What Is The Purpose Of This Serial Story?
The answer is very simple--to have fun. After all, isn't that what collecting is all about--enjoyment! This is just another means of enjoying the excitment of searching, discovering and possessing those collectibles! What prouder moment is there when you are privileged to share your "find" with someone else.
This is the life of a collector, involved in the everyday world of collecting. The trials and tribulations put Bearperson through some wonderful and some not so wonderful experiences. But, through it all we see ourselves and others. Then we really have to smile, just a little. Like the old expression, "Been there, done that!"
So, sit back, relax and read for the smiles and the memories of collecting!!

How Does This Work?
The story of the life of Bearperson in the collecting world is a serial, much like the old radio shows of a time gone by. Each month, three weeks or maybe longer or shorter (You just never know when it will show up!) a new Episode emerges (i.e., Vol. I #2). You probably can keep track by the identifying numbers for each episode. So, I guess you'll just have to check back every now and then to see what's new!

Where Did This Serial Come From?
It comes from the demented, sick mind of a hermit that lives in hills of nowhere USA!!
Not really!
The Adventures of Bearperson was born from the seeds of inserting story lines in the Bear Collectors Newsletter (an eNewsletter published once a month by the owners/authors of BOYDS BEARSTONES SECONDARY MARKETPLACE--There are links to this Website at the top and bottom of this page). Did you really think you could read all of this and not have some kind of advertisement!!
In order to make the Newsletter a little more than the listing of facts, information, dates and etc, little humorous ditties about collecting situations were sprinkled in with the rest of the items in the Newsletter. It wasn't long until the little ditties got to be big paragraphs, then the stories got to be almost as big as the rest of the information until.... Yes, the eNewsletter was too large to send with everything in it! So, we cut out the information in favor of the story. Wrong thing to do! And hence, they separated.
And thus, THE ADVENTURES OF BEARPERSON was born!!

Why Does This Serial Exist?
Why? Because we like it!! We thought perhaps you would also like reading about Bearperson.

Why Is Bearperson Just Bearperson And Not A Man Or Woman?
Collectors come in all sizes, shapes, colors and ages. Why would it matter if they are male or female? If we made Bearperson one or the other then we would always fall into that trap of sexism. "A man wouldn't do that!" "Just like a woman!" or "That's just like a man!" "Men think they are so superior!" Perhaps you can guess which Bearperson is--female? or male? (I'll never tell!!)
