Original Photographs:
Photographs are printed at approximately 300 dpi. When I am scanning photographs I usually scan at 300 dpi. This allows you to enlarge the image four times for the web and/ or to crop to a section that you want. It also lets you almost double the size if you are going to have it printed and enlarged. I have also scanned the image at 600 dpi for you to see how the higher scan could be used. See Working with Images after you have scanned the image.
