Personal Profile

I am 24 yrs old, born in Hanover NH I was raised in pembroke just outside of concord. I attended St. John’s Regional school until 5th grade. St. John’s is a private Catholic school, and I have a strong catholic upbringing. During that time I took classes at River Road Karate School and studied Ishen Ryu style karate, and was involved in the cubs scounts. I was also a soloist in St. Johns Junior Choir, I studied Gymnastics and Dancing as well. In the sixth grade I attended Three rivers School in Pembroke While I was there I participated in the art club, intramural basketball, and intramural Soccer. I also was selected for the Artists In Residence Program in which I contributed to a student documentary. Within the cub scouts I competed in the state finals after winning first place in my districts pinewood derby.

I attended High School at Bishop Brady HS in Concord NH. At this point I had become a boy scout and I attended Philmont Scout Reservation in Cimarron new Mexico . My Freshman year I was involved in the Outdoor club, and Environmental Club, and Odyssey of the mind. Sophmore year I continued with the boy scouts earning Tenderfoot second degree and  first degree. When I turned fourteen I also began working part time. I joined the outdoor club once more and the environmental club, and began studying for the Sacrament of Confirmation. My junior year I earned Star rank with the boy scouts, and began to participate in community service opportunities both with my confirmation class and through the boy scouts. I founded a new odyssey of the mind group at Bishop Brady and we competed in the state finals our first year. I was elected Senior Patrol Leader of my troop and we competed in the district finals of the Klondike Derby under my leadership. I joined the Track and Field Team as a long distance runner.

My senior year I joined INTERACT, a service organization at Bishop Brady that partnered with the Concord Rotary. I organized another odyssey of the mind team, and we generated enough interest to compete in two categories, both of which competed at the local and state levels. I participated in the Winter Track Team as a sprinter/ relay racer I earned my life rank with the Boy scouts and began to work on attaining Eagle scout rank. I participated in a number of service projects as part of my Confirmation and Eagle scout requirements as well as continuing to work part time. I joined the track Team and attained a PR mile time of 5:40. My javelin PR was 126 ft. I received the sacrament of Confirmation. During this time I took the SATs and scored a 1300, 790 verbal 510 math I graduated Bishop Brady with a GPA of 3.0 and was accepted to West Virginia Wesleyan and University of Hartford, I did not complete application to RISD MIT or BU because although I was encouraged too, I felt the first two schools, though I had some aptitude were much too specialized. I considered a biology major with the intent of becoming a veterinarian but instead I entered Uhartford as a CS major.

During the summer I was invited to volunteer as a counselor at a new summer camp for Blind children, Interactions summer camp. I helped to develop activities and programs for students with an emphasis on adaptation.

At Uhartford I joined the Cross country Team, habitat for humanity and Campus ministry, and served as a Eucharistic Minister. I achieved a PR in cross country of 29:10 but was unable to compete because NCAA paperwork had not been approved in time.  I also went to work at the university cafeteria. My third week as a Freshman I was encouraged by a peer to apply to the art program. That peer brought my Sketchbook to a professor and I was admitted into the program on a rolling basis. I was given late entry into a drawing class, with the understanding that if I showed aptitude I would be admitted into the art program. My second semester I was admitted and I changed my major to Graphic Design. I joined the Track team at Hartford as a sprinter, and trained for shotput and hurdles. My mile PR was 5:20 unfortunately, my D1 Paperwork had been lost and was not reentered in time. I decided to renew my interest in martial arts and studied a number of styles including Aikido and judo.as the semester ended Uhartford raised tuition considerably and it became unrealistic to attend. I transferred to Rivier College in Nashua NH.

During the Summer I worked full time at Sears and part time at market basket. I took a few weeks off to work at interactions summer camp as head counselor and boating Director this time in a paid capacity.

At Rivier College I majored in illustration. I was hired through workstudy. I was invited to join Rivier hall council, and to become active in Campus ministry and habitat for humanity. I also joined a Tae Kwon Do studio and progressed quickly, I was appointed representative for my floor in Hall Council and I assisted with publicity in Habitat for humanity. I participated in my first Service trip to Houston Texas. During Spring break I participated in the Collegiate challenge to new port news Va and at the end of the year a Campus ministry trip to Kentucky. I became an EM for chapel services as well.

I took classes at Rivier over the summer and transferred to the local Market Basket. I decided to discontinue Tae Kwon Do as well as I could no longer afford tuition. I was invited to return to Interactions as head counselor and waterfront director.

My second year at Riv I continued as publicity officer of Habitat. I became historian and later publicity officer of Student Ministry group. I was appointed to the fundraising committee and as chairman of the education committee.I also joined the cross country team. I participated in another service trip to Houston and a collegiate challenge trip to South Carolina and another to Kentucky. Academically, I chose to change my direction to sociology, I would pursue an associates in Art but I no longer saw myself in an artistic career. I changed my major to human development. I participated in the So prepared program and was awarded the outstanding mentor award. I was also awarded the Rivier Spirit award by Student Government Association.

During the summer I worked at the Early Childhood Center as a Teachers assistant, and worked at interactions Summer camp as head counselor and waterfront director.

My Junior year I was elected to Student Government Association as a Resident Representative. I reprised my positions in Habitat and Student Ministry as Publicity officers. I continued to work at the Early Childhood center through December, and then completed an internship with a Vision Teacher. I attended my third trip to Houston, the collegiate challenge trip to York PA and a trip to Kentucky. I joined Music ministry and  I also founded the Rivier Track and Field.  Interactions expanded its program to include a winter Sports camp, at which I was hired as a counselor. Second semester I changed my major to Sociology. I was awarded the Campus Ministry living light award.

During the summer I worked overnight flow team at Target. I continued to take classes, and I worked at interactions as head counselor and coordinator for waterfront and field sports.

My senior year I was elected president of habitat for humanity and Rivier Track and field. I was selected as co director of the music ministry group, and I was elected SGA Representative at large. Through habitat I expanded our program to include a partnership with the Nashua soup kitchen and shelter, marguerites place (A shelter for battered women that provided day care services as well) Church World Service through the CROP walk and we participated in several local building projects. We also held our first ever Freeze a thon awareness event. I was appointed Captain of the Rivier Men’s Cross Country Team and was recognized with the Unsung Hero award.  I achieved my D3PR that year with a time of 30.30 I again participated as a counselor at interactions Sports camp and was in charge of Field sports. We participated in our first Track and field meet as a club competing against several Division I teams at Newbury college in Vermont. I was awarded the Rivier college Community Service Award. I graduated on the Dean’s list with a GPA of 3.1

After Graduating I moved back to concord to work at a consumer research company as an assistant supervisor. I joined Capitol Region habitat For humanity and was asked to be Volunteer Coordinator. I accepted the position, and introduced several new email use and recruitment strategies. I joined the knights of Columbus and founded Concord Catholic Young Adults. I was offered a position at Fidelity investments and took it, moving back to Nashua NH. I competed in my first marathon, finishing the baystate marathon in Lowell NH. I reconnected with the community I had left there, attending Church at St louies and beginning to study Kung Fu as a way of keeping in shape building enruance discipline and flexibility for the marathon season.

I became dissatisfied with working in the financial industry and left Fidelity. I was hired at the Nashua Soup Kitchen and shelter. I started a personal business with Primerica Financial services and worked part time at The Sports Authority.

In the summer I was asked to take an Americorps position with Rivier College. I accepted on the condition that I be allowed to continue at the Soup kitchen, I was allowed to do so though I receive no salary. I am currently the Vonlunteer coordinator for the 21st Century Community learning center. Working out of Rivier college, I help to develop service learning opportunities, recruit and organize volunteers to help in the local after school programs, strengthen th4e partnership between Rivier and the 21CCLC through  the creation and delivery of new programs and community based asset development. I have begun competing in local road races, and completed the Bay state Marathon with a qualifying time to run in the Boston Marathon as a B3 athlete. I have become a third degree knight with the knights of Columbus and I continue to organize and coordinate Concord Catholic young adults.
