Life in the Fast Lane
"peeled out" by Charlie "Bud" Doerge

Well, another Pocono has come and gone...A sellout once again, we had 84 cars of varying descriptions come to Long Pond, PA to drive at speeds close to the limit of their cars and drivers abilities. Thanks must go to Kevin & Barbara, Craig, Frank, Warren, Cookie & Dominick (Daniel too), Cliff & Sue, Bill & Judy, and Roy for all helping to contribute to the success of this event. Special thanks also to all our friends and members of other Corvair clubs (Bob, Ken, Brian, Rick) for helping and the NECC for securing our insurance for the year. We couldn't have done it without you guys....

As one event is done, another is ready to start! Englishtown Auto Flea Market will be the 27 - 29 of this month. Note the date, as it will prevent us from having the monthly Bayshore Tech Session at my house. Roy, myself, Jim, and Don will be manning the spots at G & H 144 - 147 so if you're in the vicinity, stop by and share a cold one with us.... We'll be using the Pocono radios, coolers, and E-Z up to make our stay a little more comfortable.

Not to soon to start thinking about the Annual Bayshore Christmas Party (usually in January), but it'll be here before you know it. Any other events you'd like to see us do?? Come on out to the meeting on Wednesday the 18th and let us know. Our treasury has never been fatter (thanks to Pocono), and we're receptive to any events you'd like to do - a fall foliage tour, a rally, an econorun, a car show, you name it!!

Craig was going to be doing the newsletter this year, but has had some personal problems preventing that. Kevin, Bill & I put together what we can, when we can, but we really need someone to do it every month. We're all sorry that there have been months where there was no newsletter, but hope to get "on track" for next year. Any volunteers???

We'll it's Sunday night, Ryan Newman won a rain shortened NHIS NASCAR race earlier today, and I've just about run out of steam. Will go and hit the sack after I email this to Bill and hope to see you Wednesday evening at the Chapter House....
