Baths
Steam enshrouds, a misty curtain that veils the room. Pools abound, water constantly swirling, warm and inviting; soapsand waits on nearby ledges for easy access. Racks of clothes stand by the door, freshly washed clothing hang from some, and bundles of yet to be washed clothes fill mutliple baskets beneath. Large cupboard doors open to reveal multitude of fresh, soft towels, and plenty of bathing items -- sponges, pumice stones, and back scrubbers.
You notice Iryssa, Lylia, and Iri asleep here.
Mhari is here.
Mhari considers, eyeing Lis for a moment before the courage is gathered to speak. "Lis. You know more than I do, about...things." No, she's not going to ask if each male has a particular specieds of the animal kingdom he focuses his attention on, but rater, "What was it like, when Alymath rose?"
"What was it like?" Finally, a question that doesn't involve 'who' or 'what happened'. "Well..." Lis, none too skilled with words, does her best to explain. "At first, it was a bit scary. I mean, all of a sudden you're just completely with your dragon. For me, it was like the first time I flew on Alymath all over again..." Here, she starts to take on that wistful tone of reminiscing.
Mhari nods, nibbling her cookie absently, brushing back wet curls from her face. "It sounds rather frightening, although everyone says that it's good. They also said that you," a pause, and a blush. "That it helped, if you had some experience before it happened."
The wine hasn't gone totally to Lis' head, so she's actually quite motherly towards Mhari. "To tell the truth, I didn't have much experience. Sure, I wasn't completely innocent, but I'd never slept with anyone until Alymath's flight. Actually," she states, lowering her voice a bit, "I think it helps more if you've got someone with experience around." Just her personal opinion.
Mhari considers this, nodding slwoly. "I just worry I won't get it right, that something won't work out. That it won't be right for Keli."
Lis chuckles slowly, in spite of herself. "Don't worry so much about her. If there's anything that's going to go /right/, it's Kelitath. All you have to do is keep her from eating the beasts instead of blooding, and then it's just you and her, until someone catches." Then things tend to get interesting.
Mhari retains her slightly concerned expression. "I know. I still worry. I know that she knows what her half of it is, but I just don't know what I'll do. I haven't..." now she's really blushing, eyes on her cookie, gaze absolutely not to be raised. "I mean, I never even got kissed before, Lis. What'll I do?"
Lis' answer is dry at first. "Well, D'renn's always available." That's certainly a sobering thought. "It's not really a thing you should worry about. You just... go with it." Her shoulders shrug helplessly, not quite understanding Mhari's plight. She's not exactly pure as driven snow.
Mhari laughs at that, shaking her head. "Oh no, I don't think so. I mean, he's lovely, but I think he finds it amsusing, my not knowing, not knowing much of anything." And here it comes, the inevitable. AFter all, when one has an antisocial and grumpy lifemate, it's bound to affect your mood. "Am I that ugly Lis? Why doesn't anyone like me?"
Lovely, huh? Now that's just plain scary... "Oh, I dunno if D'renn's lovely. I mean, he does have nice hair and interesting leathers..." Lis will admit to that much, cold sober anyway. "I think he finds all women amusing, especially the proddy ones. No offense meant, dear." At her last question, she touches it as gingerly as possible. "No, it's not that you're ugly. It just depends on who you meet and how you present yourself. I just happen to know a lot of forward people." Explains a lot.
