It’s a story that never fails, it is repeated and mimicked timeless times a day, it is the installation of hope. The birth of Christ is metaphorical, it is not a static story. It is as alive now and today as it was thousands of years ago in the town of Bethlehem.

However it is relived in our every waking moment. That birth is the dawning of a new day, solution to our problem, spot of light in the ever darkening horizon. A resolution of conflict, the healing of the sick or the reaching out of a helpful hand in time of need.

The Old Testament book of Malachi sets things in perspective for us, defining that the Lord who is coming will divide the faithful from those who do not believe and outlines the provisions for those who follow Him.

Malachi’s chapter 3 verse 10 offers a blessing we cannot easily grasp, it’s wonders too complex to understand. It says to test the Lord in what He says, and see if He does not open the floodgates of Heaven and pour out so much blessing that there is not enough room to store it…… Imagine.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor , Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. And in Him, ALL the promises of healing and restoration will be alive, this day and the next.

For those who have cried out, “I need a miracle”, the time has come, it is not in the future. The day you are waiting for is today, now, NOW. Place your trust in Him and He will direct you, encourage and fortify you, no matter what obstacles stand in front of you.
