His Message I am struggling somewhat with some things, and I recognize that this blog allows me to vent without effect. I am a survivor of the hybrid superstorm Sandy and praise be to God, I mean that the impact on me and my family was minimal. And I need to wonder how that happened, when both north and south of me suffered greatly in their losses. I spent many days wondering how, or maybe better why, I was spared what others suffered.

I KNOW people who lost homes, belongings and hold on all they knew to be true. I wondered on their behalf why this destruction was necessary, now, in this time. I am not a superior thinker and my methods, if they seem simple to readers is who I am. What about the covenant not to destroy lives with the use of water? What idea or message is one to conclude when water is surging through their communities wreaking a path in need of restoration? Oh wait, how silly of me, God will bring His plan where He thinks restoration is needed.

When travesties of life seem to overburden our senses, when evil seems to be the law of the earth and the hold we think we have on life begins to weakens, God will bring His plan to turn that view around. In the wake of this destruction the acts of kindness within communities and those reaching across the boundaries of every diversity became the course of the day. First responders, and rescuers, reaching out with no fear for their own safety rise up to help. Volunteers by the busloads, from all corners of the country, taking time and driving into uncertainty to comfort and care for strangers, help for the lost and broken and for the least of these.

When we look at pictures of ocean amusement parks and underwater rollercoasters and the lives and livelihoods of so many dependent on the revenues of the next summer, our faith needs to sustain us.

When we sat in the cold and the dark, afraid and anxious over what was next, whether we were washed away or washed over, the message is His.

In the cataclysmic aftermath, the kingdom united, and was afforded the opportunity to view things differently, to rebuild and restore. With images of lost communities, so much that the value can never be counted, the message is His. He will meet us at the crossroads of our darkness, our despair and His Light will shine.

His disciples have risen on the coast of new jersey and they are coming forward to make disciples of all in the circle of the storms influence. The help, donations, encouragement and prayers are what the church is all about.

I for one (or is that One) am on my knees in thanks of His faithfulness to be my Lord and Savior, when the storm rages and when I am weak and in need of His grace and mercy.
