SÜPER KUPA HISTORY
The League champions played the Cup champions first time in 1944, when the football was still an amateur sport. It became a yearly competition right away, but was discontinued a few times. TFF named the competition honouring the authorities presenting the trophies to winners - as Başbakanlığı Kupası, Cumhurbaşkanlığı Kupası, Devlet Başkanlığı Kupası, Cumhurbaşkanlığı Kupası again. The politicians lost interest after a few editions, though. Instead of presenting the trophies themselves, they sent their staff to do that. The competition is cancelled after 1998 edition. It started again in 2006 as Süper Kupa.
16 - Galatasaray, 9 - Fenerbahçe, 8 - Beşiktaş, Trabzonspor, 1 - Göztepe, Eskişehir, Ankaragücü, Konyaspor, Akhisarspor and (1 - cancelled)
