Standings

The table below is designed not according to the UEFA points awarded to each teams, but according to the rounds they are eliminated. Even though the UEFA system is accepted in early 70's and is used since then with some minor changes it doesn't reflect the format of a cup style competition. It was designed like a league format. They award two points for each win and one for each draw. This creates some ambiguities in the cup formatted tournaments. A club eliminated in earlier rounds will have more points awarded than another club still playing in the tournament.
The examples can be observed from the table below.
The table below shows the rankings of all the clubs eliminated in the same round the same as others. However, the display show the clubs according to the aggregate score they lost, which is the criteria to progress to the next round.
