Format
Stage 1:
54 clubs play in 5 groups - four with 11 and one with 10 clubs.
Top two clubs in each group will qualify to the Promotion Group of Stage 2.
Stage 2:
A 6th group called "Promotion Group" is added.
10 clubs will play in Promotion Group and top four will get promotion to TFF 2. Lig. Clubs placed 5th, 6th, and 7th will qualify to Stage 3.
Other groups are called now as the "Classification Groups". The Classification Groups continue playing at Stage 1 with the remaining clubs. They carry-over the table data from the Stage 1 and continue adding on them. The Classification Groups winners qualify to Stage 3 and bottom three in each group will be relegated to Regional Amateur Leagues.
Stage 3:
8 clubs will play knock-out rounds at a neutral venue and two more clubs will get a promotion to TFF 2. Lig.
Tie-breakers:
If two or more teams are equal on points the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings:
a) higher number of points obtained in the matches played among the teams in question;
b) superior goal difference from the matches played among the teams in question;
c) superior goal difference from all matches played;
d) higher number of goals scored;
e) not having an awarded loss;
f) one legged play-off game(s).
TFF don't apply the tie-breaker rules for the first 33 matchdays and does apply after the 34 th matchday.
This application was also included in the league status in writing for the first time at 2008-2009 league status.
Since it is more definitive, the table is ranked using the H2H tie-breaker here. It may be different during the season from the tables of TFF.
