Note: The clubs was founded as Emniyetspor Kulübü. The club then became Emniyet Erciyesspor, Erciyesspor, BB Erciyesspor, Melikgazi Belediye Erciyesspor, Hacılar Erciyesspor, and then Erciyesspor again. The club got a promotion to Süper Lig as Erciyesspor Kulübü during 03-04 season, while another Kayseri club - Kayserispor Kulübü couldn't. The mayor of the city of Kayseri ordered the club at top level should be called Kayserispor. Both clubs were depending upon the municipality financially big way, and decided to ex-change their names. Since they couldn't use the names used at the time, Kayserispor Kulübü became Kayseri Erciyesspor Kulübü and Erciyesspor Kulübü became Kayseri Spor Kulübü. They carried all players and staff with them. The only change was the club names.
