History
The Hidden Valley Closed Golf Classic was
begun in 1994 by a group of skiers at the
Hidden Valley Ski Resort who did not want to
see the ski season end, and who wished to
extend the association with ski buddies by
holding a golf outing.

The format of the outing, a scramble featuring
teams requiring the participation of a female
golfer on each team was adopted to encourage
the participation of friends who had limited golf
skill and to include wives, girlfriends and female
ski buddies in the event.

This decision has resulted in getting many of our
female ski buddies to play in the HV Closed and
introduced to the fun game of golf,Buffy and John
Whiting have assumed the task of organizing
the event. A tradition has been estabished that
has the winning teams each year donate their
prize money to support the youth ski program.

Over the years this has amounted to thousand
dollars being used for timing equipment, a radar
speed gun and other equipment to support the
ski racing program.

Note: The 2009 Hidden Valley Closed contributed $390 to the Hidden Valley Alpine Racing Association in the name of the Hidden Valley Closed Golf Classic and Matt McDermott. This represents the prize money donated by the top three finishing teams in the 2009 15th Annual Hidden Valley Closed Golf Classic.
