The Honey Tribute Page
Honey is my favorite female duet, consisting of Jessica Stillman and
Melinda Fore, two girls from South Plainfield, New Jersey. Jes is the
guitarist, and Melinda plays keyboards. The two of them also combine
their vocal talents to show off some gorgeous harmony. Their beautiful,
but sad, sound, carried by Jessica's emotional lead vocals, makes for
some great performances.
The first time I encountered Honey was at Gravity's first ever
performance at the Morons of Rock on August 13, 1995. Jes and
Melinda were fooling around with a keyboard on stage, technically making
them Gravity's "opening act." Then, around the time of Hands Across
Ben's Grandfather's Basement, we needed female vocalists to assist
with our performance of the Rentals' "Friends of P." Murphy suggested
Jes and Melinda, so I asked them, and wound up signing Honey on the bill
as a separate act, as well. And they were damn good. From that point on,
Honey and Gravity played many local gigs together, to the point where it
almost didn't seem natural if only one of them was on the bill.
