1/21- SundayThe Death of Moon Ska records....... 1983-2000..

The following bands have been confirmed for appearing at the 2001 instalment of Warped Tour. Kevin Lyman states that RANCID, AFI, ME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMMES, A NEW FOUND GLORY, THE ATARIS, H20, LESS THAN JAKE, THE VANDALS and FENIX TX will all take part in punk rock summer camp. Most of these have been rumoured for quite some time but this is the first official word (Punkrocks.net). *We have got these dates from Noeke on the upcoming Warped Tour 2001 (USA). We want to stress that these dates are NOT confirmed yet. Dates can be found here: http://www.noeke.com/tour/twarp01.htm *Sweden's premier pop-punker's NO FUN AT ALL has decided to quit. "We've had a great time with the band" says singer Ingemar Jansson. "We've played most parts of the world, and have got ourselves memories for life. But each thing has it's time, and we feel that we want to quit while we personally still believe we are a great band”. *A few words from Jerry from THE MISFITS on the past, the future and the upcoming 25th can be found on Misfits.com. The Misfits are apparently looking for a new drummer and singer. They are also gearing up for a tour this year, starting in NYC (preferably on April 18th) running through April 2002 and ending that Halloween. Just go to Yahoo.com then in to the chat section, then in to the music section. *As you may know KUNG FU FILMS have produced their first full-length narrative feature film made specifically for the punk audience, "That Darn Punk". The film stars, among others, members of The Vandals, with Joe Escalante playing a punk musician who pays the ultimate price for his back stage indiscretions. More info here: www.thatdarnpunk.com *JIMMY EAT WORLD are putting the finishing touches on their latest album which is entitled "Bleed American." Once they find a label, they hope for a spring/summer release. Rumour has it the band may go to Virgin Records. Nothing is certain yet. *GREEN DAY are facing yet more copy cat claims over their latest single 'Warning'. Radio 1 reported that the little known British band The Other Garden reckoned that Green Day had copied part of their song 'Never Got A Chance'. Now both songs have been compared to 'Picture Book' - a 1969 album track by Britpop originals the Kinks. A musicologist is on the case. *Punk´n´roll band GLUECIFER is currently working on their next album. The new record will be not be released by White Jazz or SubPop. The band is at the moment talking to several new labels. *The first annual VANS "Off-the-Wall" Club Tour is about to kickoff. Southern California punk rockers IGNITE are teaming up with Vans Footwear, Hurley Intl., Visions Magazine and Supersonic Records to bring to Europe the first ever Vans "Off-the-Wall" Club Tour which will begin late February. *The new DROPKICK MURPHYS album comes out Feb 6. DKM will be performing some brief but free shows at select locations in the Northeast. On the release date, they`ll be announcing the complete tour dates for the 7 week 'Sing Loud Sing Proud' US tour which will begin March 9 and run thru the end of April *Apparently there's a rumour that San Diego, California's UNWRITTEN LAW have called it quits. Their drummer quit for sure and Jordan from Strung Out had to fill in for a couple shows for them last week. Supposedly the band split due to "unfixable differences." Remember, this is NOT confirmed! *Along with the recent announcements of HEY MERCEDES, and DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL joining the Vagrant family, it is now official that HOT ROD CIRCUIT has signed with the label as well. Hot Rod Circuit has recently released a split seven inch with now labelmates, The Anniversary, as well as their latest full length entitled "If It's Cool With You, It's Cool With Me". *Because of a recent court decision awarding the 3 other remaining Dead Kennedys members back royalties and damages. Alternative Tentacles now faces extinction as a label. 1/05- SaturdayPunkbands.com as always... PENNYWISE are going to be entering Stall #2 Studios on February 1st to begin recording their new album. Little other information exists at this time. *The ATARIS are gearing up for the release of their highly anticipated full length entitled "End Is Forever." The record will be out on February 20th worldwide. The band has plans to do various record release shows with NOFX and Social Distortion. A U.S./Canadian tour with The Vandals and Lagwagon has also been thrown into the mix. *EQUAL VISION RECORDS` newest signing, FAIRWEATHER are finishing up recording their debut album in Washington DC at Salad Days with Brian McTernan. The record is titled "If They Move... Kill Them" and ins scheduled to be released February 20th, 2001 on Equal Vision Records. *PROPAGANDHI is scheduled to headline the next Fat Wreck Tour (tentatively titled the Humanitarian Intervention Tour) with Avail, J Church and Fabulous Disaster supporting. Propagandhi will also be releasing their long anticipated follow up record entitled "Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes" on February 6th as well. *Europe's DECONSTRUCTION TOUR is busy plotting bands for it's annual outing. NOFX, Lagwagon, Less Than Jake, Millencolin, Pennywise and Blink 182 have all been thrown into the pool of possibilities. Official announcements are sure to follow soon before the tour kicks off in late spring (Punkrocks.net). *LINK 80 have found a new bass player to replace Adam Pereira. Mike Irizarry from Long Island, New York will take over after Adam P was kicked out of the band in December *NOFX will do some shows (with LAGWAGON) in Vegas this February Check out www.nofxonline.com for more info. *English band, The Other Garden, are suing American band, GREEN DAY. Their latest single 'Warning' which entered the top 30 at the end of last year allegedly has a striking resemblance to Garden's 1997 release, 'Never Got The Chance'. According to their lawyer, Alastair Nicholas, the group could be due £100,000 in royalties. *According to SF Weekly (San Francisco free paper), the new ME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMMES record will be out on March 20th on Fat. It will include '60s songs such as Cat Stevens' "Wild World," Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind" and Del Shannon's "Runaway." *ATOM AND HIS PACKAGE have signed to Hopeless Records. Expect a release of their upcoming 7" "Shopping Spree" on February 6th and then the LP "Redefining Music" on April 3 (Hopeless Newsletter). *The Official ALL/DESCENDENTS Site http://www.allcentral.com is being redesigned "with tons of cool interactive Flash features, Digital Jukebox (patent pending), ALL video games, and a complete on-line catalogue of CD's, T-shirts, and other cool stuff *As we reported, NOISE POLLUTION magazine published the 50 greatest punk albums ever in their latest edition. The boys are also working on a new record and should have it out by the spring or summer by the latest, on Revelation Records. *LESS THAN JAKE, THE TEEN IDOLS, ANTI-FLAG and A NEW FOUND GLORY will all be touring together starting February 16th. Dates to come! *ROLLING STONE magazine has released their list of the 50 best albums to come out in the year 2000 and At The Drive-In's "Relationship Of Command" tops the list, which also includes the latest efforts from Green Day and No Doubt. *DEATH BY STEREO’S new website is up and full of new pictures, updates, and merchandise, see it www.deathbystereo.com *THE PEEPSHOWS entered Studio Soundlab in Örebro (Sweden) 4th of Jan. to start the recording of their new album which will be entitled "Today We Kill, Tomorrow We Die" They will be in the studio for 4 weeks and record everything live. Expect a smokin´release sometime in May 2001. *LARS FREDERIKSEN AND THE BASTARDS have just finished recording a solo record for Hellcat which will be coming out at the end of March. The record features songs about Lars' hood , Campbell, Ca as well as a cover of Billy Bragg's "To Have And Have Not".

12/28-Thursday:Punkbands.com once again... FAT MUSIC VOLUME V, Live Fat, Die Young, will be made up of entirely unreleased songs! It will feature new songs from all your favourite Fat bands and a few new faces as well: Anti-Flag, Fabulous Disaster, Rise Against, and Zero Down! It's gonna be out early next year. *In an online this week KEVIN LYMAN began to drop names for bands they are attempting to get on WARPED TOUR 2001. Although only Less Than Jake and The Vandals are confirmed Warped is currently wooing One Man Army, A New Found Glory (movie lovers), Weezer, Sloppymeateaters, Rancid and AFI (touring partners). *SEX PISTOLS have vehemently denied growing rumours that they are to get back together for a one off show in London on new year’s eve. From their LA base, the band's management told NME.com that the show will definitely not happen. *FUELED BY RAMEN hits you with a new website home. It`s really good looking and easy to navigate. Check it out at: FueledByRamen.com *The BEATSTEAKS (Epitaph) finished their pre-productions and went to Cologne to start recordings for the 3rd album. The as yet untitled album is scheduled for a late spring 2001 release date. The producer will be once again Uwe Sabirowski. *THE GET UP KIDS have officially announced that they will be doing 20 dates with WEEZER in February and March. The tour will be sponsored by Yahoo. The band will also be rocking out opening up for Green Day in January for two weeks. *FUGAZI'S Southern Records website recently announced that the guys are "concentrating on writing new songs and recording demos." This exciting information, coupled with the new songs heard at live shows over the summer, indicates that the fellas intend to soldier on. Can we wait a new album next year? *AGAINST ALL AUTHORITY will have a CD of b-sides and rarities coming out on February 6th, 2001. The CD is entitled "Nothing New For Trash Like You" and has 18 tracks. The band will also be doing some shows in Florida with Less Than Jake. *DYNAMITE BOY has just finished recording their new record. They were in California for three weeks working with producer Cameron Webb. Look out for it in February, but in the meantime they'll be on the road. They are heading out with the Queers in January and march with the Ataris. *PULLEY are still working on new songs for their next record. They will be doing some touring soon. We’ll keep you updated on the progress with the new record. *FACE TO FACE are gearing up to embark on their upcoming tour with SNAPCASE, H2O, and label mates NO MOTIV for a tour that runs from late January throughout early March. This tour promises to be very successful considering the line-up. For dates, check out http://www.vagrant.com *NITRO RECORDS very own SON OF SAM will release their debut album titled "Songs From The Earth" on April 3 2001. *GREEN DAY is planning an exclusive tour in Germany in spring next year. It will be one or two weeks long. Talking about Germany, Brett from Ignite told us that they will come back to Germany to support "A Place called home" in March. They will be supported by a band from Victory, but he didn`t want to tell us who. *The new HOTBOX album was mastered last week and is in the finishing process. The vocals were produced in-part by Fat Mike! The yet to be titled album is due out March 2nd. According to the Souls their fans are in for something exceptional: “People definitely won't know what hit them. The band is so much tighter than ever before, the music is tougher, faster and more alive than ever before, the songs are brilliant" (epitaph.com). *AFI announces the dates for their tour supporting friends The Offspring throughout Europe in early 2001. Check the tour page for more info (afireinside.net). *BIGWIG stopped touring long enough to write their new record, and plan the recording in February. Hopefully it will be out soon. As we all know, it’s long overdue (Fearless). *Victory Records signs WATERDOWN. The guys from Germany will release their debut next may. The guys recently toured Germany with Grade and played also a couple of shows with now labelmates Snapcase and also Boy Sets Fire. Grade liked the guys so much that they helped them to get the deal

12/10-Sunday:Punkbands.com once again... HOT WATER MUSIC have recently finished up their tour with The Alkaline Trio and Strike Anywhere and are now gearing up to head into the studio to begin recording their Epitaph Records debut album throughout December until mid January. The still untitled record is scheduled to be released May 8th, 2001 on Epitaph with an anticipated tour possibly beginning in March. *Hitting the festival circuit next year is a film called "RAGE! 20 YEARS OF PUNK ROCK – WEST COAST STYLE". It's a documentary about California punk rock from '78-'98. It includes interviews with the Dead Kennedys' Jello Biafra and the Circle Jerks' Keith Morris among others. The expected release date is March of next year (Punknews.org). *EARTH CRISIS have entered the studio to begin recording their cover/rarities album which will be released January 23rd, 2001. The record entitled "Last Of The Same," will feature covers of Slayer, Black Sabbath, and Dead Kennedy's, as well as rare and unreleased original Earth Crisis music. *SNUFF have plans for many upcoming releases in the time to come. The boys will soon be going into the studio to record 3 new songs. One for the upcoming Fat Wreck Comp, the other two does not have a home as of yet. *THE ALKALINE TRIO have recently completed the finishing touches on their highly anticipated new album entitled "From Here To Infirmary" and is scheduled to be released on Vagrant Records on April 16th, 2001. The Trio also have plans to release a three-way split EP with the Dismemberment Plan and the Promise Ring. *THE MISFITS will perform on a show December 29th 2000 at the WWF New York in Times Square. Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 at the door. More info including how & where to get tickets it will be posted at Misfits.com when it becomes available (Misfits). *The new DIESEL BOY record is titled, "Rode Hard and Put Away Wet" on Honest Don's Records. The guys are still shooting for a February 20th release. *UNION 13 has posted a statement on their website, asking that people who attend their December shows (up until Christmas) bring a toy or some type of non-perishable food item as a donation. All things collected will be given to needy families and children for the holiday season (epitaph.com). *If you live outside Australia and have bought the OFFSPRING’S Conspiracy Of One you probably don’t have the track "Huck It". It is an exclusive track which is only available on the Australian version of the new records. Download it from Offspring Online (punkbands.com/theoffspring). *THE DAMNED are currently deciding on a producer for their first release on NITRO RECORDS. The new album, untitled as of yet, is tentatively scheduled for May of 2001! *MILLENCOLIN are finally back home in Sweden after touring extensively since January/February. They're currently rehearsing and writing new songs. They hope to record the new album sometime in early summer 2001, with the release an approximate 6 months after that. *MICHAEL GRAVES, formerly of the MISFITS, has recorded five new songs that are now available on Napster. Little is known about the new Graves band, although we speculate that it includes members of Graves' Lost Boys project. *IGNITE got a European record label to release their material, a German label called Gun Records. The European version of A Place Called Home will officially be released February 19 featuring two bonus tracks, some different artwork and some multimedia features on the disc too. *Vocalist WARD AIMI has officially parted ways with the RIVER CITY REBELS, and will immediately be replaced by former 4 Heads Deep frontman Andrew Mauriello (Victory Records). *After playing a few U.S. gigs in October and early November, GREEN DAY have now confirmed dates for the initial leg of a 2001 tour. Go to Greenday.net for more info. *BAD ASTRONAUT (Joey from Lagwagon's side project) has now finished recording their first release. "Acrophobe" EP will be out on Honest Don's in early February. *Contrary to http://www.weezer.net, THE GET UP KIDS are not confirmed on the WEEZER tour. It is still in the talking stages. They ARE going out on tour with Green Day and have not yet decided what their plans will be after that. This has come straight from our contacts at Vagrant Records. *THE ATARIS new record “End is Forever” is due out on Kung Fu Records on February 6th. They are currently on tour with the Vandals in Europe.

11/22-Wensday:After spending much of the year mourning founding member and guitarist Dennis Danell, SOCIAL DISTORTION are picking up the pieces and getting back to playing live, announcing a round of SoCal and Las Vegas-area shows in January. They are finishing up their eighth album, due out next year. More info can be found here: www.socialdistortion.com *Honest Don's have signed a new band called BIG IN JAPAN, featuring Zac from Screeching Weasel and Zoinks. They are planning on having their first full length out in March. *On Monday 11/13-- At 9:00 PM EST. www.Twec.com will be holding a live chat with THE OFFSPRING. The band is promoting their new album, "Conspiracy Of One" which will be in stores on Tuesday Nov 14 (or just try Napster). *VICTORY RECORDS plans to release two live albums titled "Victory New York City Takeover Volumes I and II" which will showcase material from all of the New York bands on the Victory roster. * More MISFITS news. Michael Graves and Dr. Chud have both quit the band mid-show in Florida on October 25. Jerry and Doyle are trying to find a solid lineup for their next tour. Finally after many, many rumors flying around, past and present about the Misfits, apparently half of them have disbanded. Look for a posting on the official Misfits website (www.misfits.com) soon. * THE ALKALINE TRIO have recently finished up recording their new album which will be out sometime in February/March 2001 on Vagrant Records. They recorded 15 songs. 12 of which will be on the new album, 2 will be on a Lookout! single and 1 for a compilation. *Punk-Ska bands GOLDFINGER, LESS THAN JAKE, HOMEGROWN and the MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES among others, are being featured on a Christmas compilation called "Sleighed: The other side of Christmas". This should be the perfect gift to give someone you really love (yourself?) for Christmas. *Fat announced, that the DICKIES will be releasing their next full length on Fat Wreck Chords. Ever since the break-up of the Ramones, the legendary Dickies have held the title as the longest running punk band. *EARTH CRISIS have announced that they will be going into the studio to record a "rarities album" that will include several unreleased tracks from the "Slither" sessions, as well as a few surprising covers. After this next tour they plan to take some time off of the road in order to write and record. They recently had to postpone these dates due to their drummer's upper respitory infection. The new dates can be found here: www.blink182.com *There have been some rumours on the net, that THE PROMISE RING cut their tour with BAD RELIGION short due to "bad feedback". This is not the case. They had to cut short citing health issues related to singer/guitarist Davey vonBohlen's recent battle with a brain tumour. *FRENZAL RHOMB`S latest release "Shut Your Mouth", out in the southern hemisphere November 6th, will be released on Fat Wreck sometime in February 2001. You can already hear some samples of the new material on the official website http://www.frenzalrhomb.com *GRADE is set to release their new full length album entitled "The Embarrassing Beginning" out November 21st on Victory Records. The record will feature previously unreleased demo tracks as well as a few tracks featuring acoustics performances. *According to the official Strung Out website has announced that STRUNG OUT will be doing a 10-12 date tour with Papa Roach. Dates can be found here: www.strung-out.com *Rumours are flying around the internet that DOWNSET has broken-up. This is not true. Downset remains intact despite changes. Epitaph confirmed this with the members of Downset. Pay no attention to the internet rumours circulating about this situation.

10/9-Monday:WOW! LOOK WHOS BACK!! --- though they were never really gone... Stick Figure Suicide is back in action and ready to play shows again, they had some trouble after their tour.. but they are back with more shows, friday oct. 20 in flemington,nj and monday nov. 6th in wallington, nj.. check my shows page for details!!

10/3-Tuesday:AS ALWAYS straight from PUNKBANDS.com... The OFFSPRING's plan to release its entire new album, A Conspiracy Of One, as free downloads on its own website (offspring.com) has been squelched by its record company, SONY MUSIC. The label was "extremely happy" with the compromise. However, the band apparently doesn't share the feeling. * LESS THAN JAKE has landed the opening slot on the first leg of Bon Jovi's upcoming arena tour. Is this a joke? Prior to the Bon Jovi shows, LTJ will be performing in Japan (with local bands) and Europe (with MxPx). LTJ will be playing Australian WARPED TOUR in January (not confirmed yet). *On December 5th, H2O will be releasing a 2 song 7" on Side One Dummy Records. The songs will be 2 covers. Ice Cube's -'It Was A Good Day' and Suicidal Tendencies- 'I Want More. *BOY SETS FIRE are releasing an exclusive European single called "Suckerpunch Training" which will be released in the next few weeks by Join The Team Player Records. It will probably be released in the U.S. six months after the European release. Boy Sets Fire are currently touring Europe extensively. *PETROGRAD just finished all the recordings to their new album “a.b.c”, which will come out on the 7th of October, on 13 different labels all around the world. *AFI, THE DISTILLERS, and RANCID are hitting the road together. The tentative title is "The Donnas Turn 21" and it is due to be released on January 23 of 2001 (punkrocks.net). *FAT WRECK CHORDS just released an MP3 from SICK OF IT ALL's forthcoming release, “Yours Truly”, at the label's website. They are the best of everything that is good, put into one band. *The PROPAGANDHI upcoming album has been pushed back once again. Due to a language barrier the new Propagandhi record Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes has been pushed back to 2001. *They have tattoos, hot licks, and they're from SoCal. They're Fat's newest band, ZERO DOWN, and they're fronted by former Strung Out bassist Jim. Look for their debut full length out early next year (fatwreck.com). *HOT WATER MUSIC have confirmed studio time for two weeks in December and two weeks in January to record their new record.
