Ladies of Llanview Event - August 3, 2007

Here we are again! Two great events in one day (I was at the Trevor St. John event earlier). What can I say? I'll say it again, this has got to be one of the best days of my life!

It was, once again, another fun and great event. Melissa Archer (Natalie Buchanan), Beth Ann Bonner (Talia Sayed), Bree Williamson (Jessica Brennan), and Ilene Kristen (Roxy Balsom) were scheduled to appear at this event (so were Kristen Aldenson [Starr Manning] and Tika Sumpter [Layla Williamson], but I got a notice about Tika not being able to make four days before the event started [so Beth Ann took her place]. In addition, Renee Goldsberry (ex-Evangeline Williamson) was also not at this event. Kristen Aldenson was also listed to attend but she wasn't there either for some reason).

Anyway, Melissa, Beth Ann, Bree, and Ilene showed up with two surprise guests. No one knew about these two guests showing up! They were Robin Strasser (Dorian Lord) and Christina Chambers (Marty Saybrooke). To be honest, I wasn't surprised about Robin Strasser being there because she is always at these events. I was surprised to see Christina though. There were also some other surprises including giving out free posters, free copies of One Life Many Voices CD (which I already had so I didn't get it) at the end of the event, and also Debby announced that we would all get 4X6 photos of the ladies in the mail. Don't you just love free stuff? LOL!!

I can't remember what questions were asked during the Q&A (sorry I was running on three hours of sleep that day....LOL). I remember Bree was late and when she came in she was like "I'm sorry"....LOL! I remember one lady asking Ilene (but wanted her to answer her back as Roxy) about what she should do with her hair which was kind of funny. Another person asked Beth Ann about her event she was hosting on the 4th with Bree and naturally someone asked "so who did kill Spencer Truman?" None of the ladies knew the answer and if they did, they certainly weren't going to tell so Christina was like "I did" and we all laughed. Beth Ann also sung "Natural Woman" for us. Bree also mentioned that she was doing "Barefoot in the Park" this year.

When it was time for the ladies to walk around to the tables to speak to us individually, Beth Ann was the first to our table. She said "hello ladies and not-so ladies" (because my friend was the only guy at the table....LOL)! She signed a photo that I had brought and she told me that the picture she was signing was her I Wanna Be a Soap Star photo. I told her that she had a great voice and that I was a singer too. She was like "Really?" I also told her that she looked great at the Daytime Emmy Awards and she said "thank you very much". I also said that I hope that her and Antonio get together and she was like "I hope so too." I thought it was funny when she asked me what my name was, that she decided to write a "test run" of my name on a blank piece of paper first. She was like "I better write a test run. Nothing wrong with a test run!" LOL! She wrote on my photo "rock and and sing hard". I also got my photo with her.

Next up to our table was Ilene and the first thing she said was "okay, no one has brought a photo of me" and that's when I said "I brought one". She was like "Oh, okay, one shouldn't assume." I said to her that I thought her character was funny and that she should be more on the show. She told me that I "should tell them that" ("them" meaning TPTB) and I said "oh I have". She, then, went on to talk about with the new writer in charge there may be a chance that Roxy will be on more often. I also told her that I thought she was very good on the "One Life Many Voices" CD and she said that the song on there wasn't her best work, but Robin needed something quickly so she used that one. She said that she will be revising that song. I, once again, said she was great anyway and she said "thank you". When I asked if I could get a photo with her, she said "absolutely".

Next to come by was Robin, I think, and I didn't have a photo of her because they weren't selling any; so when she asked if there was anything to sign, we were like "we didn't know you were going to be here" so she was like "how about I sign the plate? How's that?" I said "sure!" (There was a cup and saucer combo per person at each table.) The only thing I said to Robin was "I like you and Clint" and she said "I am having a great time" (I am not a big Dorian Lord fan so, you know, I tried....LOL!). However, I still didn't want her to leave without having a picture taken with her....LOL!

Next to come around was Bree. Again, like with Robin, I didn't have much to say to her either. I had brought a photo of her which she signed and I told her that I love Jessica and Antonio and Jessica and Nash. I told her that I hope she and Nash can be on more and she said "I hope so". I said that it must be great working with two hot guys and she said "they can sometimes be a pain". I guess most men can be that way....LOL! (Actually, I prefer Jessica and Antonio as opposed to Jessica and Nash and, if you have read my myspace blogs, you all know that I am not a big Jessica fan at the moment because of what she did to Antonio!). I had a photo with her anyway.

Christina Chambers was next to arrive at our table and I told her that I loved her shoes and she said "thank you, I got it here in NYC". I also told her that I was watching when Susan Haskell was playing Marty and she was like "oh so you've been watching a long time then". I told her that I thought she was doing a great job playing Marty and she said thank you. She asked me if I wanted to have my picture taken with her and I said "absolutely!" She was like "I love your enthusiam." Somewhere along the line, the subject of age came up and someone at the table thought Christina was 22, but she said "no I'm not 22, she is" and she pointed to some other girl at our table. She was like "I graduated high school 30 years ago." Then we were like "there's nothing wrong with being in your 30s". That's when she said to me, "You're in your 30s? How old are you? You do not look like you're in your 30s!" I had told her I had a birthday last week and she said, "beautiful." Christina is the best. Since there were no photos of her (or Robin) at the event, I had Christina sign the little cup that was on our table. :)

When Christina went over to my friend, she asked us both where we were from and we said that we were from New Jersey. I, then, told her I was born in Brooklyn and she said she was from Virginia. In which I said that my sister lives in Virginia and she was like "really? Where?" and I said "Fairfax" and then she told me what part of Virginia she was from (I forgot where she said at the moment!).

The last person to come by was Melissa Archer. She was like "Hi, I'm sorry I'm slow"....LOL! The only things I said to her was that I liked her character and that I loved her dress. I asked her where she got it from and she said that she borrowed it from the set. That's when I said "I thought that dress looked familiar. Did you wear it on the set once?" And she was like "yes" and I was like "I thought so". LMAO! She signed a photo that I had brought.

The people who were sitting with us at the event while we were waiting for the Llanview ladies to come by were not as talkative to new people as the ladies who we sat with at Trevor's event. They seemed to want to talk to their own friends than make new ones. I tried being friendly with some of them. In fact, there was someone there who I had met at a previous engagement sitting at our table. This person was really cool at the previous engagement. We had a good conversation and this person was very nice, so when I saw this same person at this event a second time I asked if I could take a photo before the person left and this person didn't want one taken. Whatever. Oh well. I probably won't see that person again anyway.

It so was funny when they were announcing raffle ticket numbers because Melissa kept repeating the numbers so people could hear them....hee hee! There were much more people here than at Trevor's event, so that was a good thing for her to do....LOL!

Oh and I have to say that out of all the people I met here, Christina was my favorite to talk to (and I had the biggest conversation with). I wasn't a big Christina fan until tonight. All of the "Ladies of Llanview" were great, but I really enjoyed talking to Christina. I am now a Christina Chambers fan for life! She made up for Tika and Renee not being there, which were who my friend and I really wanted to see; so thank you Christina! :)

Thank you again to Debby and the "Ladies of Llanview" for another awesome event! This was all worth the three hours of sleep I had the night before....LMAO (and getting caught in the rain afterwards)!! Looking forward to doing this one again too! Check out some pics below. :)

Here is the cup and saucer combination that was at everyone's tables. The cup says "Girls Night Out With the Ladies of Llanview".

Here is the same cup and saucer combination that I had signed. Robin signed the saucer and Christina signed the cup. :)
