Sebastian Roche and Ignacio Serricchio's Event - November 4, 2007

I got to this event and funny enough, I was at the same table today as I was for Ted King. Table number four once again (not that I was complaining). Also, I saw two people (husband and wife) who were at Jason and Kimberly's event at my table as well so we said hi to each other.

Okay, when I first heard about this I thought that having these two hosting an event together was kind of a strange combination. However, when Sebastian and Ignacio were together it was like a comedy act and I can see now why these two were hosting an event. They are so funny. The first thing Sebastian said after they both said hello to us was "go Yankees!" during the Q&A (I guess he's a Yankees fan huh? LOL!). Also, during the Q&A, there was the most funniest Jason Morgan and Sonny Corinthos scene those two did that I ever seen. You just had to have been there to see it, folks, there's no describing it. Ignacio told the story about Maurice Bernard not liking to speak Spanish; but when Ignacio was on the show, he did not know this until he started speaking Spanish to him. I knew about this because I had read about it in a previous interview years ago. However someone was quick to mention that Maurice (in the character of Sonny Corinthos) spoke Spanish on the show last week....LOL! Ignacio was like "oh really?" Ignacio and Sebastian both said that they make fun of Maurice and Steve Burton all the time.

Someone asked if either one was seeing anyone special right now. Ignacio said he recently found someone that no one knew about yet, not even his family (they probably did after this event....LOL)! Sebastian was like "I didn't know you found someone". Ignacio said, "no one knows about her yet"....LOL! Sebastian said he isn't looking for anyone right now after being in a divorce. Someone in the audience was like "so you're playing the field?" We all laughed and he was like "yes"....LOL!

Sebastian also mentioned a movie he was in called Beowulf, which I didn't even know he was in. Ignacio mentioned about his band and also talked about his prime time show. Also, once again, the writer's strike question came up. Someone asked if it was going to affect the soaps and Sebastian said "Primetime, yes. Daytime, no". Ignacio said that it may effect prime time in which the stations would put in a lot of reality shows in their place. Sebstian also said that if Daytime soaps leave the air, they are gone for good (which, actually, Jason and Kimberly said at their event earlier).

Someone else had said to Sebastian that she wasn't a fan until she met him at the GH weekend in July (I think that's where she said she met him) because she wasn't a Jerry Jacks fan. She said that she associated him with the character. I think that's what happens to a lot of us. We tend to associate the character with the actor/actress. Sebastian and Jerry Jacks are two totally different people (or as Sebastian said, "Jerry/Craig"....LOL! He must have been reading the message boards when that was going on....hee hee!). I was debating on whether or not I wanted to meet Sebastian myself at first, but it wasn't because he's "Jerry Jacks". Sebastian also said that he didn't know where his character was going at the moment, and **shame shame** both Sebastian and Ignacio started a rumor about Georgie being killed off; so if you see any of that stuff on the soap board, you know who started it....LMAO!

The Q&A lasted about an hour and then Ignacio and Sebastian came around the tables to talk to us. While this was going on, as usual, there was an auction with numbers being called (I would have brought raffle tickets but not for $5.00; so I never buy them. If I'm going to pay $5.00, I have to be GUARANTEED to win something). Ignacio started in the back of the room while Sebstian started the front. I heard Ignacio say to the table next to us that he loves doing these kinds of events (I will admit to being there because of Sebastian but that was really cool of him to say).

Our table was next for Ignacio and he went around to half of us and then got distracted with the table he was just at - someone wanted him to sign something that was won during the auction (she must have won at least five or six things that night - it seemed that every number called, she won). Then he went to another table forgetting that there were still some of us here that hadn't had a chance to talk to him, get autographs, or a picture. We tried to get his attention. Luckily Sebastian was there and he said "you forgot to finish your other table". Ignacio was like "oh I'm sorry, my bad!" LOL!

I have to say, I'm not a big Ignacio fan. I wasn't into his character of Diego Alcazar or him as an actor when he was on GH, but he was nice to talk to. I asked him if his band was going to do anything in NYC and he said they should be coming around soon - I wasn't really interested but I felt I had to say something to him. My man was Sebastian!

Sebastian came around and hugged all of us (except for the guy at the table - he got a handshake....LOL! You also want to know something funny? The guy was the one who was the fan and not his wife! LOL!!). The lady at tour table had the "General Hospital Yearbook" in which she had everyone who she has met on GH sign. Sebastian looked at the book and was like "I never seen this book before." I jumped in and was like, "yeah it came out in 1998". He was like "really?" He was very interested in that book (note to self: I have that book so bring it next time for him to sign....LOL)!

He is such a gentleman and so nice, and sweet, and very funny. He was like "Hi, what's your name?" When I told him, he said "that's a pretty name. Where is it from?" That's when I told him that I was Haitian-American but my parents made it up. He was like "oh do you know Creole?" I said that I knew some and he said that he knew all the bad words. Then he started swearing in Creole and I started laughing, and told him "my mom says those things all the time!" He's so lovely.

As I mentioned before, I was debating on whether or not to come to this event. I am so glad I decided to go! I had so much fun and I made it a point to thank Debby personally for doing all of this (Ignacio thanked her too). She was like "oh thank you for coming" and she gave me a hug. She was like "I hope you come back" and I said, "oh I will" (and that's a fact, folks)!
