Okay, like, I was supposed to go to this event with my friend; but he bailed out at the last minute (when I mean last minute, I mean last minute!). He, literally, told me when he arrived at my house the day of Ted King's Event (which was the day before) that he couldn't go. I was really angry at him and I let him have it because I could have found someone else to go with had I known he could not go. This event was planned months in advance! Anyway, I still had fun without him.
My morning started very early. I took the 6:35am bus and got into the city around 7:35am. I stopped at a local Newspaper/magazine stand to get a bag of crackers and a bottle of water because I didn't eat breakfast. I also decided to finally buy a pair of sunglasses after being without a pair for a few weeks (the last pair I had broke). The sun was bothering my eyes and the fact that I didn't have breakfast and wasn't still quite awake yet, made it worse; so I had to buy a pair.
Around 7:46am, I walk to the hotel. When I got there, it was around 8:15am and I checked in. There were a lot of people already gathered inside. The people at my table were really nice and we got into a pretty good conversation. They also wasn't as crazy as the table at Ted's event....LOL! Oh and my friend would be happy to know he wouldn't have been the only guy at the table had he gone....LMAO! Oh and guess what else they had? FREE BAGELS! YES! I WAS SAVED!! LOL!! (Remember, I didn't eat breakfast folks!)
Around 9:30am, Jason and Kimberly enter the room. Jason had on a white t-shirt and jeans (although not tight enough Jason....LOL)! Kimberly had on a black shirt and also wearing jeans. During the Q&A, there were a lot of Leyla questions and jokes - nobody in the room (including myself) likes Patrick with her. Someone also asked Jason why haven't the writers focused on Patrick's point of view about why he does not want a baby, which was a valid point. The writers made sure we saw Robin's point of view but what about Patrick? They talked about the Writer's Strike (which happened this week) and told the fans that it will not affect the soaps. Jason and Kimberly also said if soaps go off the air, they will not be back; so the show had worked their way around it somehow. Someone asked Jason who he would like to work with outside of GH and he said he would like to work with Billy Dee Williams again, and mentioned that there were talks about him coming to GH. There were also questions about who Jason and Kimberly's favorite characters were. I loved it when someone asked Kimberly if the girl who Nikolas sees by him was her and she said something like "you never know" and I think that's when she looked at Jason and then Jason goes, "I don't know, I'm not Nikolas". It was the funniest thing.
The Q&A went by fairly quick and a good thing because this event was sold out and there were a lot of people in the room for them to go around and talk with. I also got the impression that Jason is a very quiet person (hey Jason, I can relate to that because I am quiet too. Wanna hook up? Okay, just kidding - back to reality....LOL!). Kimberly seemed more outgoing than him. Before Jason and Kimberly went around the tables, they stood onstage for us to take pictures of them together.
While we were waiting for Jason and Kimberly, one of the announcers announced that they were selling the t-shirts Jason posed for that benefited NYU Melanoma Fund that he would autograph if anyone wanted one sign. If I didn't already order the t-shirt, I would have brought it there....LOL! Ladies, you can see this t-shirt by clicking on this link....hee hee! Another reason to love Jason Thompson folks! We also found out that day that Debby O'Connor (who I totally love - she is the organizer for these events) is a melanoma survivor. Congratulations Debby!!
Our table was so hilarious because when Jason got closer (he was at the next table) - we took a couple of ass shots of him. It was great....hee hee! He is so HOT!!!! Someone mentioned that he has nice dimples, although nothing compared to Maurice Bernard's. I agreed with that person. I am a big Maurice Bernard fan as well, but that's for another day....LOL! We all know there is more to Jason than his dimples and he's got it baby....woo hoo!
When he finally got to our table, he was like "hi table 13" (that was our table number - lucky 13). We were the last table. Of course, that's when I suddenly got frozen for a second and couldn't say anything to him at first (it must have been the eyes or the way he had his arm around me for the picture....LOL)! Luckily, the ladies at my table had plenty to say to him. I had brought a picture of him and Kimberly at Ted King's event and I am so glad I did because that particular one ended up being sold out today. I passed the picture to him and he looked at me and said, "who do I make this out to?" (**Thud!!**) That's when I finally spoke to him and said my name. He gave this "oh boy, that's hard" look and I spelled it for him (Hey, I'm used to that. Those of you who know my name can understand this). I also did not let him get away without saying that I loved him on the show and that he was one of my favorite characters (afterall, I was here to see him more than Kimberly). He was like "really? Wow, thanks." Strong silent type - gotta love those.
Another thing I have found out about Kimberly. Just like with Renee Goldsberry's event, Kimberly loves to talk! Jason had finished going around the tables and Kimberly was still on the front tables. We were the last table as I said before, so we waited patiently. I started getting a little nervous, though, because Jason had finished with everyone around 11:30 and here it was 12:30 and Kimberly hadn't gotten around to us yet and I had another event to get to at 1:00pm (of course I know these things never start on time but my anxiety struck again). I decided at 12:45 I was going to just leave with or without meeting Kimberly (because, as I also said, I was really there to meet Jason). Ha, she must have had ESP because at 12:45, she finally came to our table. She signed my photo and I had a picture taken with her, but I didn't say anything but "hi" because by then it was 12:50 and, yep, my anxiety was telling me to head on upstairs for the next event. She was really sweet though. Overall, once again, another spectacular event. :)
