If there is one people in this world that I can’t stand, it’s goths. There’s a good amount of the “individuals” around the college campus I live on, and I can’t but help chuckle a little when I see one of these weirdoes walking by with their sad faces and their Cradle of Filth CD. Cradle of Filth sucks.
Goths have to be most mindless sub-culture that people have ever devised. Only in America (and others well to do countries) would a bunch of assholes try to be sad all the time. You don’t see Goths in Iraq or Cambodia. Why not? Because those people have things to worry about that are a constant reminder that life is hard. Goths have it easy in comparison. They have Internet access, parents that support them, and whole corperate franchise that they buy their clothes from. There’s no hoping you don’t get killed in a car bombing or looking over your shoulder for people who want to kill you because your of a different religion. Of coarse they bring out the “I hate the world cause there’s war and conformist limitations on American society”. Duh, you dumb fuck. Everything (including those spikes, boots, trench coats, etc your wearing) is made in bulk. But if you were black, guess that means that you’re different.
I’ve seen kids walking around with white face paint and trench coats like they’re the fucking Crow or something. Running around with their Satanism, Wicca, and death loving shit just makes you look like an asshole, not different.
At this point, I’d like to make a differentiation between suburban goths and real goths. Real goths go out and kill people and live in New Orleans. Suburban goths live in middle-class homes and attend high school were they are sad cause the other kids make fun of them. Well, you know what? FUCK YOU. Everyone gets made fun of in high school, you are not special or different. It’s called sucking it up and bearing with it. Go stand in line for water and find out what it’s like to have a hard life. I at least know and value the fact I don’t live in Russia, Libya, Iran or some other bullshit country like that. I’m happy for my Starbucks coffees, Internet access, and my own car.
There’s no way to be an individual in this society anymore. I’m not an individual and neither are Goths or punks. Why? Because just the word goth and punk symbolize a group of people (and a rather extensive one too). You’re not alone, which means you’re not an individual.
Stop trying to bring the 80’s back. Gothic culture is a stupid, boring, unimaginative group that tries to outdo how sad each other are. Fuck that.
