Escape Rhythm ("Junctional Rhythm")
- QRS complexed
have the morphology which is usual for that subject in that lead
- QRS complexes
are of normal duration (.10 or less)
- The escape
interval is usually 1.5 sec or more and the escape rate is typically
40 bpm or less
- Atrial activity
is either absent or is present just before, within or just after
the QRS complex but if the atrial activity is present the P waves
have a polarity opposite that for sinus P waves in that given
lead
