EKG Diagnostic Criteria

Junctional Escape Rhythm ("Junctional Rhythm")

  • QRS complexed have the morphology which is usual for that subject in that lead
  • QRS complexes are of normal duration (.10 or less)
  • The escape interval is usually 1.5 sec or more and the escape rate is typically 40 bpm or less
  • Atrial activity is either absent or is present just before, within or just after the QRS complex but if the atrial activity is present the P waves have a polarity opposite that for sinus P waves in that given lead
