Keanu Charles Reeves was born on the 2nd of September 1964 in Beiut Lebanon. Keanu's life to begin with was very unsettled, he and his family spent a lot of time moving from place to place, besides Lebanon he also lived in Australia and New York before his family settled in Toronto Canada.
His first name is pronounced 'Key-ah-nu' meaning 'Cool breeze over the mountains'. It reflects his father Samual Nowlin Reeves's Hawaiian-Chinese hertiage, Keanu was named after his great, great Uncle and has two younger sisters Kim and half sister Karina. His mother Patricia Taylor herself came from an English background.
Keanu's mother was one of the greatest influences in his life, bringing up himself and sister Kim alone after his father walked out on then when Keanu was just four. Partricia surrounded her family with culture and art and gave her children the gift of always being who you are. The family had no particular religious or political beliefs, Patricia prefering that her children form these themselves. Keanu was raised in a middle class comfortable background despite moving five times in fifteen years.
Keanu was nicknamed "The Wall" in school for his Ice Hockey defensive skills, playing the position of goalie. Keanu was nver much interested in school, "I even flunked gym", though he was very popular among classmates. He was named "most valuable player".
Keanu's mother was a clothes designer who worked with numourous famous people including Dolly Parton, David Bowie and Alice Cooper. Keanu was exposed to fame young one might say.yer" by Le Salle college during the year he spent there, his class mates knew him as 'ke', 'Reeves' or 'Reevo'.
Keanu had a great love of music and attended many concerts his favourite performers include Husher Du, The Ramones, The Pixies, The Exploited, G.B.H, The Butthole Surfers, Fugazi, The Velvet  Underground, Wire, Sham 69, Discharge, Agent Orange, Big Black, The Clash and Emmylou Harris.
Keanu began his acting career in Toronto, when he featured as Mercutio in William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. From there he went on to secure an agent and make a commercial for Coca-Cola and then landing a role in the Toronto television show Hanging In. This is where his talent began to shine.
Keanu could be found now in many small Canadian films but until he featured in Youngblood in 1986, a low budget film about Ice Hockey, did he finally get noticed.
Keanu played goalie a role he only know too well but unfortunatly hidden by the hockey mask.  Keanu though did get to say a line "This man is a F****** animal", and as the saying goes so a star was born.
