Well let's see. My name is Larry Barnes and I'm 20 years old . I live in a kind of small town called Portales, NM where I am going to college here at Eastern New Mexico University and I'm majoring in Religion. I'm from Carlsbad NM, born in Las Cruces, NM. I enjoy long walks on the beach, bike riding, and the breeze on my face. No kids please. Just kidding sorry...anyway...My favorite bands (if you couldn't guess by now) are Mxpx, Five Iron Frenzy, Blindside, The O.C. Supertones., Value Pac, These 5 Down (a freakin' awesome Christian hardcore band), , The W's, The Skadaddles, Zao, Slick Shoes, Stavesacre, The Cootees, Project 86, P.O.D., Squad 5-0, The Insyderz and some others. Obviously music is very important to me, and if you're wondering who these bands are, you might notice that they're all Christian. It's true. So as you can guess I am Christian, pro-creation, ,Pro-Life Pro-Jesus type of guy. It may sound dorky but who cares? I like listening to music, playing video games, comic books (reading and collecting), playing raquetball, bowling (my two sports, don't laugh), playing the guitar, and of course the ever popular hanging out with friends. Sometime after college I plan to be a youth minister, get married, and yes, have 2.5 kids, who knows. Well you know my whole life. Hopefully you still like me. By the way you should join my FAN CLUB. It helps my self esteem a lot. Just click on the big FAN CLUB. thing. And take a look at a few pictures down the page.

Nothing going on, just eating pizza at 3 a.m. mmmmmm.....I'm so bored. I got a playstation 2 today! It came with that game Gran Turismo 3. Not bad for a racing game. Anyway, I was bored. That's all.

I guess it's been awhile huh? Does anyone really read this? I really doubt it, anyway, here goes. This summer has been honestly one of the best ones ever. And sadly/happily it's almost over. It was one of those things where I changed my mind at the last minute and that was a good thing. I had planned to go up to my aunt and uncles's house in Washington, DC and go work somewhere up there for lots of money. Instead I stuck it out in good ole Carlsbad, NM. I got to intern with my old youth minister at the church I grew up in, and it was pretty awesome. At first I was just going as a sponsor on trips and summer camps (I'll get back to this one) etc. THEN....crazily enough, the youth minister was planning to leave (I didn't know this when I signed up) and she left like a month into summer. So what does that leave me? IN CHARGE! Yeah, like one of the biggest churches in town hires me, a 20 year old punk kid (lol, I had to take out the eyebrow spike for work though) as the summer youth minister. CRAZY, and totally awesome. I learned so much from doing that job. I plan on going into youth ministry when I get out of college, so this was rad experience. I got to teach and learn about God and they pay me for it, how cool is that? The new youth minister guy came last Thursday, and I got a week left before I go back to school, so I'm pretty much done with that. OK, back to summer camp. So I go to camp, getting to go free for one thing (a benefit of a youth minister intern) and I go to Junior High camp, and can you guess where this is going? What do you do at camps, besides learn about God? Yep, I met a girl. And don't worry, lol, she wasn't a junior high camper, she was a counselor. I got asked that once and i was like "Hmm...perhaps I'm not explaining this story right." But yeah, after that week, then talked to her the next week, then seeing her again the week after at Senior High Camp (she was a camper, but she's 18 don't worry!) I really got to know her, and well, totally fell for her. So after that week she goes off to Washington DC for some smart person gathering and learning about government, and when she comes back talk about it and we vote on it (not really) and decide that we're officially a couple. Cool huh? I thought so. Since then I've been going up to see her like every weekend (she lived 3 hours away from me near my college) This probably doesn't mean a lot to you, but yeah, she means a lot to me. Sadly she's going to the University of Tulsa, in Oklahoma. Which is cool, but it's about 8 or so hours away. Her name's Lesley by the way, see some pics of her on my picture page. So yeah, a lot has happened this summer. I'll be going back to school in about a week, and I totally bored. No job, no girl, and no friends around. They've all left for college, so I'm hanging around for a week. Oh well, I'll live. I like the alone time sometimes. lol, it'll give me time to play video games and practice playing bass. So that was long and well....long. But it's my life and my page so YOU HAVE TO READ THIS. HAHAHA. Well...techincally you don't, but you know. I'm stopping here. Pray for me guys and girls, I have a feeling this semester is going to be awesome and hard at the same time. God Bless.

If you check out my pictures page, you'll notice a strange looking symbol in the back or my right leg. Notice what that is? Yes! It's a tattoo! I finally got one to go with my 3 piercings (eyebrow and....nipples, it's true.) If you can't tell, the middle symbol in the cross is the symbol of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) Don't know what that is? Ask me. Ilikemxpx@hotmail.com or IM me: punkrockVivi on AOL, decepticon284 on yahoo, or my email on MSN. Other than that, not much as gone on, schools almost out and it looks like I'll be interning with a youth minister (that's what I want to be) Hopefully that'll turn out as awesome as I'm expecting it to be. Ok, that's all.

Since everyone cares and all I'd just like to tell everyone that I had my 20th birthday on March 24th. :) Yeah, nobody believes me, someone even said I still look 18. I don't know if that's good or bad. Anyway, thought I'd let all the avid readers on more thing about my life. Ok so I'm the only avid reader....so what? Gees...

Once again, it's been a long time, I'm just busy with school....sure I am. Actually I'm supposed to be writing a paper right now, but you know, I got my priorities straight.....Anyway, I'm still in college, still a religion major, all that's pretty much the same. Nothing too exciting has happened lately, I did see the Supertones and Relient K in concert not long ago, it was awesome (check out the pics of them here. The Supertones kicked butt. Other than that, doing boring hanging out, the usual I guess. I did meet a cool girl from Canada (Hi Jenn!) on the internet, that's the most excitement in awhile. If something else exciting happens, I'll tell you. Untill then....OH! by the way if anyone cares to get a hold of me on the Instant Message, my yahoo ID is decepticon284 and my MSN Messenger ID is ilikemxpx@hotmail.com If you want, I'd be glad to talk to you.

...This just in.....last night I finally beat Final Fantasy 8. I stayed up until 3:30 finishing it and watching the ending. I was not disappointed (my roomate might say something a little different). Maybe I'll play it again and buy the game guide and get everything....Oh yes, I will defeat it again.........

Well it's been awhile, let's recap shall we? It's a new semester at college. It's going pretty good so far. I'm taking hard classes like raquetball and beginning acting (Gen Ed. stuff). Being the religion major I am, I do like my New Testament Survey and Life or Christ classes. Also Adolscent Psychology (so I can figure out some of my friends) and English (*sound of man choking). Um random stuff...Being the nerd I am, I'm playing my Final Fantasy 8 game on playstation that I got for Christmas. It rocks by the way. Oh yes, I recently emailed Five Iron Frenzy asking them to write song about me, I'm really optimistic about it (yeah right). So guys if you're reading this, I'm still up for it if you are. That's it for now, my birthday is on March 24th (I'll be 19), so presents are always welcome.

**September 29, 1999**
Well I'm still at college. Everything is going alright here so far. A cool thing that just happened is that I finally got to see Five Iron Frenzy in concert in Albuquerque last Sunday. The bad thing is I had to drive back that night until about 3 in the morning. It was worth it though. The Insyderz, the W's and Justin McRoberts (I hadn't heard of him either) were there. They all put on a really good show. The Justin guy played like three acoustic guitar songs, he said he has a new album out. It was kind of funny because people were crowd surfing to him playing his guitar. It was strange. Five Iron was just awesome though. By far the best band I've seen live (the Skadaddles, MxPx, and Squad Five-0 came pretty close though).

**August 25, 1999**

Well I'm at college now. It's pretty cool here though. I've met some people and I like them. Classes haven't officially started so I guess we'll see. I'm pretty sure they start tomorrow. My roomate isn't a weird smelly, heavy metal listening to, guy. I like him. That's all for now. Read my new newsletter. It's all about college life.

This dog is neat isn't he?
