In this lifetime we will have many people in our lives, serving many different purposes. We can reach our highest goals with each of these people if we make our primary focus one of reflecting the spirit that we are - the whole person that already exists, that already reflects all facets of the divine within. When we choose to work on ourselves, to acknowledge the pain and the joy in our life - then we move forward, then we grow as spirits. Meditation is one tool that connects us with the divine - that allows us to drop the veil of life and see things for what they are - temporary reflections of ourselves. When we recognize who we are as individuals and as reflections of the divine, we are that much closer to finding our soul mates. There may be only one soul mate in our lifetime, there may be more. They may appear to help us deal with specific issues, or specific time periods (sometimes referred to as task companions), to work out karmic debt (soulmates) or to stay with us for an entire lifetime as our perfect soul mate ( twin flame). When we have a soulmate in our lives, we reflect a strong sense of purpose - we grow stronger together, stronger than we would have on our own. How we view love determines the type of soulmate that we draw to us in this lifetime. We have to be willing to open our hearts to all that is and can be. We have to be willing to work on ourselves - as the people that we draw to us are reflections of who we are and what we believe. We need to begin our search for a soul mate by being the very best people that we can be - by honoring ourselves and our own personal creativity. We need to do what brings us the greatest joy in life, that which will allow us to love unconditionally, to open ourselves to all experiences. We need to pay attention to and honor our inner wisdom - our intuition and our dreams. Only when we recognize the highest in ourselves are we able to recognize the highest in others. Soul mates are energetic beings that have reincarnated with us through many lifetimes, through many lessons. Sometimes our relationship was one of learning, sometimes it was one of challenge - always it was one that catalyzed growth. As soul mates we bond together because of the memories that we share on a subconscious level. The attraction between soulmates is a mental, rather than a physical one. These are the people who can finish our sentences on first meeting (as we can finish theirs). We feel as if we have known them for a lifetime - and we have, for several lifetimes! Meeting our soul mate brings on a great sense of responsibility - they are not there to make life easy for us, nor are we there to do that for them. As combined energies, soul mates promote spiritual growth in each other. How do we go about bringing our soul mate into our lives? We live the best lives that we can. We honor the highest within ourselves. We pay attention to our dreams and our intuition. We practice unconditional love in our daily lives. We listen to our own thoughts - consciously repeating the positive ones, consciously releasing the negative ones. We spend time each day meditating and using positive affirmations and visualization to bring that to us that which we wish to have in our lives. We open our hearts and our souls and trust that Universe will bring us what we need. We allow the reflection of the Divine in our lives. We forgive ourselves, we forgive others and we learn to love unconditionally. Whether our soul mates are here as task oriented beings, as karmic beings or as twin flames - we need to honor them and ourselves, and their purpose in our lives. I offer you this affirmation as a beginning to finding your own soul mate. "I honor the spark of unconditional love that begins within me, that encompasses me as I learn to love myself, that surrounds me as a soft pink light, energizing me. I honor that spark that becomes a flame that reaches out to encompass those around me in unconditional love - that flame that then reaches out into the Universe to act as a guiding light that shows us all as reflections of, as part of the Universal One."
