Heart Centered Consciousness By Bonnie Cehovet What exactly is heart centered consciousness? Are we concerned with cholesterol here, or maybe clogged arteries? Maybe this is an overdose of romantic books/movies? Is there a pill we can take, or an operation that we can undergo to make it all better? None of the above. We are concerned with a much subtler part of ourselves here - we are concerned with how we center ourselves, how we go about reflecting Great Spirit in our daily lives and how we reflect through our decisions and actions our connection with All Of Our Relations. The heart is not a mushy, sentimental energy - rather, it is our gateway to the world of our Ancestors, to the worlds that have gone before us and to those worlds that will go after us. The heart asks only one thing - that we remain centered on the bright flame of Universal Love that extends from our heart center, through all of our layers of being - forming a shell of light energy around our physical selves that extends itself out into the universe. Through living from our hearts we bypass many of the pressures of this physical world. Picture in your mind the hurricane energies that life can sometimes hand us - and then, instead of seeing yourself being buffeted around the edges, collecting scrapes and bruises, see yourself in the calm center of the storm. Everything in your life is still happening - but your choice has been to see each issue through a veil of acceptance and understanding. Your choice has been to reflect the Divine Being that we are all a mirror of, to act rather than react, to show love, rather than anger or fear. When something happens to take you out of your center, stop and take a deep breath. Close your eyes and follow your breathing - in and out, in and out. As you breathe out, feel the tension leaving your body. As you breathe in, see yourself being filled with a peaceful white light. As you continue to breathe, picture and aura of white light forming around you. Feel it getting stronger and stronger, extending out farther and farther. Consciously send this light to those that you love. Consciously send this light to those that annoy you, to those that you see as the source of your problems. Those that annoy us can be our greatest teachers, as they are the ones that make us look at ourselves, at who and what we are. Each moment, each hour, each day, week, month and year that you continue this practice you will find your connection with your intuitive side deepening. These are the "aha!" experiences of our waking hours, the dreams that come to us in dreamtime, the times that we realize that we are "knowing without knowing". A natural and deep connection with mother earth begins to form around us. Through her, we allow the voices of our Grandmothers and Grandfathers to speak. We connect with all of Universe - with all of her records, with all of her knowledge. We become energized, we become activated - we become the true mirror for Great Spirit, for the energy that we all are and always will be. On this day, make the choice to center yourself within your heart. On this day, make the choice to live from that center at all times, noting the hurricane energy that life can sometimes be, but not allowing yourself to be sucked into it. On this day, make the conscious choice to be a catalyzer in your own life, and in the lives of those around you.
