Whoa doggies! The site offended me - in the face offended me - right away! And my sister wanted to go to one of their lectures??? You see - my sister and I are both Reiki Masters and energy healers. The site she sent me to - right on the first page, right up on top, in big, bold letters, called their healing technique "A Quantum Leap Beyond Reiki!" Heresy, I tell you! LOL OK So I calmed down enough (after I e-mailed my sister to make sure she had "really" seen this site and still wanted to go to their lecture) to actually read the site. The lady still made big claims, but .... well, she was a Reiki Master also, so maybe there was some truth in here, somewhere. And I do like to investigate new things. And ... her technique was based on Hawaiian ancestral teachings. I lived in Hawaii for five years, and have great respect for the kahuna's and their knowledge. Maybe ... just maybe, I needed to investigate this. So ... Now my sister also wants to go to the attunement ceremony they are holding the morning after the lecture. By this time I was mellowed out - so I said OK to that too. I am really looking forward to getting away - even if it is just for overnight! The big day comes. I pack my bags and drive out to my sister's. She is still at work, so I get to spend quality time with her German Shepherd, Katy. Actually, I did want to see Ms Katy in person, because a few days back she had fallen into the pond at my mother's house, and my sister and I had to "assist" her out! Katy gets fed a puppy cookie (OK - a Milk Bone dog treat!), and we are all happy. My sister comes home, and we chat for a moment, then take off. We have to drive 45 minutes to get to the site of the lecture. It is being held at a hotel near the SeaTac (that would be Seattle-Tacoma) airport. Hmmm I am not too impressed - the hotel is one of the smaller (read cheaper) ones, but it seems OK. We finally locate the room - the sense of direction of the hotel in placing it's signs is not too good - but we fall across the room by accident, so we are cool. We tell them who we are, then go check out what they have for sale (of course they have something for sale - free is free, but they have to pay for the room somehow!). There is a table with some nice loking glasses, and pitchers of ice water. Next to that are three containers labled "hot water", with some cups. Now - surely the hotel does not think we are going to be drinking hot water, right? This has to really be coffee, and I want some. I get my cup, flip down the lever - and lo and behold ... it IS hot water! Bummer. I settle for the ice water. The room is an interesting mix of people - all very nice. No one seems crazy, so that's good. The lecture starts on time, and that is good too. Really interesting lady doing the lecture. She is the owner of the site we saw on the internet, and the founder of this method of energy healing. She is dressed in a flowing red Hawaiian mumu, with a red overcloth tied at her left shoulder. She wears a red lei on her head, and an interesting carving hung around her neck. She actually is coherent, and has some interesting things to say. It turns out that the red lei, the carving and the overcloth that she wears are all ceremonial garb, gifted to her by the Hawaiian kauna that she trained under. She tells us about her healing practice, about it's relationship to Reiki, and does a short meditation with us. It turns out that most of t he room will be returning the next day for her attunement, which is related to her healing practice, but not part of it. She then asks for our help. Directly after the attunement the next day, she is flying to New York City. That Saturday she will be doing a Blessing and healing at ground zero (the site of the twin towers collapse during the September 11th terrorist attack). She has been asked by the head of the clean up crew to do this - to heal the earth, and to assist the souls that are still earthbound to ascend into the light. She was asking us to send energy for a specific 30 minute period on the day of the Blessing and healing. When she said that - a shiver went up my spine. As a healer, during 911 - in fact, as soon as I knew what had happened, I knew that the work of lightworkers worldwide was not so much to heal the living, or even to heal the earth where this had happened, but to assist the masses of souls who were in a very confused state into the light. And now that feeling was being confirmed. Had I not followed a whim and agreed to go with my sister, I would not have been given this opportunity. I would not have met this woman, would not have heard about her wonderful work. I ask all of you to suspend judgment in your life. To follow your personal whims - for you never know where they may lead!
