I recently had the opportunity to receive an attunement connected to a healing modality asspcoated with my work with Reiki. This was not a Reiki attunement, but an attunement that would connect each participant with their own Divine Essence, and initiate them to the Eternal Light on all levels. Through the Light all negativity would be evaporated - from past lives, current life and future lives. All of your lifetimes would become one of harmony.
My sister and I went together to receive the attunement. The night before we had attended a lecture introducing us to this new healing modality. The lecture was a powerful one, and most of the audience returned the next morning for the attunement. The level of interest and excitement was interesting to watch. While there were a couple of individuals that were clearly new to light/healing work, for the most part the audience consisted of lightworkers/healers that had been practicing for some time, and had a good grasp of their abilities.
Prefacing the attunement itself was a short lecture on "what" we were being opened up to, and how this might affect our lives. We all paid rapt attention, as negativity is a large part of daily life, so getting a handle on it is a HUGE plus. The attunement itself was done as a form of meditation, using taped background music. The instructor took us through all the levels of our bodies (physical, mental, auric, etherial), bringing them into harmony so that we would shine with the natural Lightof the Divine from within.
The emphasis here was to live consciously, and to live with the thought of extending unconditional love to all that we meet, rather than cluttering our lives with judgments about ourselves and those around us.
At the end of the attunement, we were lead to receiving our purpose for this lifetime. For each and every member of the audience, the message came through clearly. We were instructed to write this life purpose down, Interestingly enough - no one asked why. :) The purpose was clear to me - we wrote it down so that in the excitement we would not forget it, but I did wonder that no one asked. ;-)
Then the Master giving the attunement went one step further - she Blessed each member of the audience individually and conected with them on a mental level. It was amazing how well mannered the audience was. There was no talking (and we had not been told not to talk - we just respected each others space), and row by row the audience members went up to the front of the room to be Blessed.
At the end - a very warm and wonderful thing happened. The Master took the time to Bless the two people who had trained under her and were assisting her, and one of her assistants then Blessed the Master. It was powerful, and it was moving. Gracious gestures from very gracious people.
The ceremony was all that I expected it to be, all that it was meant to be. Like minded people brought together for a common purpose. I never thought ahead to what the aftermath of this attunement would be - to how it might affect my life. My profession is that of Tarot reader. I read for a 900 line, andread for many people each day. I immediatley began experiencing a greater depth to my readings - and they became fun again, rather than a "job".
I think my expectations for this ceremony were realistic, and that they were met. Part of this is because the ceremony had a very specific intent, and part of this was because in setting up the lecture andthe attunement, the presenter (the Master) made sure to promote her work to a group of like minded people, and not to a widely diverse audience.
I love being involved in ceremony - it marks the stages of our lives, and helps us celebrate who and what we are. The next time you are involved in ceremony, take the time to look at your expectations - and at what you bring to the table. :)
Thank you for visiting my Ceremony pages. May your day be Blessed.
