Shamanism School is quite an eclectic site. Part reality, part tongue in cheek, it presents itself as, at the least, an interesting corner of the internet. I want to go on record as saying "Please take this site with a grain of salt." I am presenting it here because it is a mixture of many things that interest me. The problem being - maybe too many things are being thrown together here for me to take it very seriously - and I do take the study and application of shamanism seriously.
This site presents itself as the "Esoteric School Of Shamanism and Magic". Can I get a bit picky here? Generally ceremonial, or "high" magick is exactly that - magick - with a "k", not the magic of Penn and Teller, no matter how wonderful their "magic" may be!
This is the promo for their school, stating that their students will learn how to:
"* Work directly with the elements air, fire, water, and earth
* Use the magical tools wand, athame, chalice, and plate
* Do divination and communicate psychically
* Design, test, and cast spells that are appropriate, safe, and effective
* Use universal laws to manifest their desires"
These are all very admirable subjects - but they are only tangentally related to shamanism! OK The school does say "shamanism and magic". The site goes on to say:
"With these tools, our students can do a lot, including:
* Heal themselves and others of many health conditions
* Communicate psychically
* Influence their environment to create what they want
* Defend themselves against psychic attack
* Create safe and effective spells when necessary
* Release worries and doubts"
There are some wonderful stories and articles here. Enjoy them for what they are - a time of respite in your day. One thing that I did not take advantage of that you may wish to is to be a guest at one of the classes - which are teleclasses. This is a wonderful technique for finding out if the "reality" here is your reality. :)
Aside from offering classes, this site also offers healing services - based on Oriental Medicine and the principles of magic presented in their classes.
One hint - and I will tell you no more - it would definitely spoil t he surprise! Hold your cursor over the "contact" link at the top of the page!
