Personal Empowerment: Accepting Abundance In Your Life

One of the first things that I ran across when I was researching this article was a wonderful resource link: www.empowermentresources.com/ page6.html. If you are looking for personal empowerment resources, the links contained here will be of great help to you. Two of the links on this site referred to institutes on either coast that offered classes and workshops on personal empowerment: www.esalen.org on the west coast (California) and www.eomega.org on the east coast (New York).

I am going to wander around a bit looking at the subject of accepting abundance in our lives, with a very specific focus on financial abundance. This is one area that I have a great deal of difficulty in - accepting financial abundance in my life. I am focused, and I work very hard, but it seems that I avoid drawing abundance to me. I seem to have a secret fear that I am not "worthy" of that abundance. One of the items that I came across in researching accepting abundance in our lives, or even taking the unbelievable step of asking for it, is that there is an infinite amount of abundance in the universe - whether it be financial, material, emotional or spiritual in nature - there is an infinite amount of abundance, and it is perfectly all right to ask for that which will support us. The trick here, if there is one, is to word our requests to universe in such a manner that we ask for what we need from the infinite wealth available, but that it not be taken "from" someone else.

The first thing that we have to look at with healing our relationship with abundance is to (a) want to understand and heal that part of our lives, and (b) be willing to release the thoughts and actions in our lives that are holding us back. There will always be distractions that take our focus away from healing our relationship with money. We need to see them as exactly that - distractions. We need to learn to see them in another light - perhaps as seeing them as temporary. Our wish for abundance is a permanent part of our life - the bills and other issues that get in the way of focusing on drawing that abundance to us are temporary. They may be immediate in nature, but they are temporary in duration. And if we find that we are "creating" bills as a way of being, we need to see that as an obstacle that needs to be addressed.

Focusing on the "what" in our vision of abundance helps us to see what our bigger picture is. What are we looking for? Is it a home, a car, a certain level of savings? Is it a yearly vacation? What are we working towards when we look to drawing financial abundance to us? Is it a way of life, a certain level of living? Where are we currently, and where do we want to be. Once we can see these two things, we can begin to build a path between the two. What are we afraid of, and what ways of thinking/acting do we need to let go of?

We have now formed the picture of what financial abundance is to each of us. Now we need to take the step of committing ourselves to creating this in our lives. We need to look at what money represents to us, and we need to see where some of our views may end up shooting ourselves in the foot. What can we do to become financially independent individuals?

We need to be honest with ourselves about how we view our own finances, about where we want to be in life, and about how we are holding ourselves back. We need to make the commitment to nurture our own prosperity. Then we need to take that one step further and take the actions that will nurture the financial prosperity of those around us. We need to be honest with ourselves, and we need to be willing to talk things over with a mentor or advisor when we feel that we are not seeing our paths clearly.

We have to do one very simple thing - take responsibility for the current state of our affairs. Once we do that, we can move mountains.
