September, 7, 2001- Hey, Hey, Hey, Welcome
to the new thrill, Welcome to my site and I hope you enjoy this design! If you don't like it,
I don't know what I will do. This site needs information. Visit The Parks
Section, Links Section, and Rumors
Section. All of those sections have places for you to submit
information. In order for this site to be good, it needs help from you,
the people. So submit that info! In those sections you can submit links,
park reviews, and rumors. Come on, You people have to have one of those
things. and you will notice the faded pictures on the left of each page,
those are temporary, that column is still under construction. Well, I will see yah later. -Nick
September 3, 2001- Millennium Force's Lift Cable
Snaps- During Testing in the morning at Cedar Point in Sandusky,
Ohio. The 310 foot tall Giga Coaster, "Millennium Force" had its
cable snap after almost two seasons of operation. The employees in it were
carried back down in the little liftavator thing. Everything is fine. The
anti-rollback devices worked perfectly. The hometeam 19 news chopper was
there, which was way unnecessary. The ride was, of course, closed the rest
of the day . The park is hoping to have a new cable by Thursday, the start
of Millennium Mania!
August 23, 2001- Vekoma Must File For Bankruptcy
Protection- The Netherlands based ride manufacturer, who has
brought us such rides as boomerangs, suspended looping coasters, flying
coasters. has to lay off 200 jobs and file for bankruptcy protection. The
cause is from non-payment from parks for their several new coasters like
their two Deja Vu super inverted boomerangs and from coasters like Batwing
and X-Flight. The cause of this is because these rides have had technical
problems and have been delayed most of the season. I am happy about this!
August 8, 2001- Team Attempts to ride 72 coasters
in 24 hours- A team of four people are trying to
annihilate the record for most coasters ridden in 24 hours, the
old record of 40 coasters in 24 hours is going to be attempted to
be broken. They will be using helicopters to hit
Mid-Atlantic parks. But they are skipping Ohio (not smart). And it
all for charity (that's nice). The Attempt was completed and
they actually rode 75 coasters in 24 hours (that's Amazing).
August 16, 2001- Superman: Ride Of Steel Trains
Collide At SFNE- At Six Flags New England. The Intamin
hypercoaster "Superman: Ride Of Steel" had two of it's
trains collide and eight people were injured. One woman's face was
bleeding. An investigation is pending, until then, the ride stays closed,
oh no!!!!!
