The
Trade Federation Army uses the AAT hover tanks as a first line
of attack. This vehicle was seen in "The Phantom
Menace".
This kit was built Box Stock without any modifications. The
overall tank body was painted with a mix of Model Master Sand
and Dark Tan. Dark Tan was also used for the darker contrasting color
on the tank. The shots and burn marks were mostly done with dark
gray airbrushing with occasional silver highlights.
A
lot more of the forward areas of the tank has battle-damage and
heavy weathering, as most incoming attacks would be concentrated
there. Even though it is a hovering vehicle, rocks or other
solid obstructions may damage the forward structure, so it was
dented and worn with a Dremel tool and the chipped areas were
painted with Testors Steel.
Some of the Droid hand-holds were
intentionally damaged, suggesting Battle Droids had been shot
off the tank with enough force that the Droid broke the handle
when it fell from the AAT.
