The
sixth Federation starship to bear the name Enterprise is also
one of the most advanced ship designs in Starfleet.
This
kit was built straight from the box with no modifications. The
hull base color is Flat Gull Gray. The phaser banks were
painted with Medium Gray. The dark hull panel details are
Intermediate Blue.
The
Navigational Deflector was painted with Light Ghost Gray on the
front side. Immediately after painting it, the paint was wiped
off with a cloth. This left gray in the crevasses only. The back
of the Deflector piece was painted with Fluorescent Red.
Windows are painted Gloss White. The Bussard collectors were
painted Gloss Red and then were treated to Fluorescent Red.
The blue glow of the engines was achieved by first painting them
Mat Sky Blue, then painting a light coat of Testors fluorescent
Horizon Blue.
The dedication plaque for the sixth Federation starship
Enterprise. It was built by the same naval yard that constructed
Captain Kirk's Enterprise more than a century ago.
