This
Galaxy Class model represents the USS Odyssey, one of the first
Starfleet ships to fall at the hands of the Dominion. Commanded
by Captain Keogh, it was destroyed in a battle with Jem' Hadar
Fighters. The Odyssey exploded as a result of the damage
inflicted during a Kamikaze run by one of the Jem' Hadar ships.
This model was built with no modifications. The base coat is
Flat Gull Gray spray paint. The remainder of the model was hand
painted. The phaser banks are Medium Gray. The escape pod
hatches are Sand.
The decals are from the Enterprise-D kit, but the markings
specific to the Odyssey are from a set from Web Games.

The
windows are either Gloss White or Gloss Black. The main
Deflector is Flat White with Flat Red. The Bussard collectors
are Gloss Red painted on the outside of the caps. RCS Thrusters
are Gloss Yellow. Mat Sky Blue was painted on the inside of the
clear plastic Warp grilles.

The
dedication plaque bore a quote from the movie "2001: A
Space Odyssey" regarding the monolith. The ship itself was
named for the Apollo 13 Command Module.
