Memories of my time among your generous
people are a constant comfort to me, even more so in these recent,
painful times since the death of my most honorable father. My
outrage over his death consumes me, even to the point that I
fail to see the plight to which my friends among the Dragon Clan
are subject. In this, I have failed my duties to my allies and
sensei.
To repay you for your constant support
and assistance, I have arranged for much-needed supplies to be
transported to the areas of your land where your suffering is
greatest. In this way, we can reforge the bonds between us that
I have foolishly allowed to lapse. It is my duty to serve the
people of my father's Empire, and I can think of none so deserving
of my attention as an Imperial heir as the noble and august Dragon
Clan.
Once your needs are fulfilled, then
we must speak of the state of the Empire. Terrible things have
happened, and continue to happen. The Shadowlands, once thought
defeated and broken, reemerges as a genuine threat to the safety
and continued existence of Rokugan. I learned the identity of
the new Lord of the Shadowlands, Daigotsu, and the terrible secret
of his wretched Onisu, one of whom is responsible for Toturi's
death. The Dragon Clan always stands against the corruption that
threatens our Empire, and I know that you will stand with me
against this new evil.
The time for debate and uncertainty
has passed. My brothers and sister are honorable men and women,
and are a great testament to the glorious reign of my father.
But none of them can stand against the horde of darkness that
threatens to envelop us all if we do not act. The time has come
for me to ascend the throne and unite the clans against the Shadowlands.
With the Dragon as my allies, Daigotsu and his abominations will
be destroyed.
