The current daimyo of both the Dragon and
Togashi Clans is Togashi Hoshi, son of the original Togashi kami.
He dropped the surname Togashi for one year after he left the
Dragon mountains because of disagreement with Hitomi purging
the house. Later, he returned to Dragon lands to challenge Hitomi
for the leadership of the Dragon Clan and won a test of honor
against her. Rumors that Hitomi let him win still occasionally
come up, but for all practical matters he had her blessing to
take over the clan. Hitomi was preparing to fight Lord Moon and
wanted the question of succession to be clear before she left
for her quest.
There probably is little truth to the rumor
that as the Dragon Clan Thunder with the Obsidian Hand Hitomi
could have won just by bowing....
The Togashi family are the leaders of the
Dragon Clan where they deal with "more 'sublime' matters".
Many of the tattooed Togashi are monks known as Ise Zumi.

The Mirumoto deal with the mundane duties
of the Dragon clan leaving the "sublime matters" to
the Togashi. They do not feel slighted by this arrangement because
they were also given the privilege of taxation to go along with
their traditional military duties of defense. The recent internal
politics of the Mirumoto are convoluted but the following synopsis
should help:
Mirumoto Shosan was the daimyo of the Mirumoto at the start of
the Clan Wars. When his eldest son Satsu was killed by Hida Yakamo,
he was broken hearted and committed seppuku. His nephew Mirumoto
Yukihira claimed the position of daimyo, arguing that he should
lead the clan due to his prowess as a weapons master. In a surprising
turn of events, Mirumoto Shosan's daughter Hitomi.challenged
Yukihira for leadership of the Mirumoto and won.
Soon Hitomi was leaving the ceremonial matters to her brother
Daini while her uncle Mirumoto Sukune continued running Mirumoto
castle. Daini eventually went to the Imperial Court and then
to the Lion provinces to study under Akodo Toturi, the Emerald
Empire's greatest tactician.. After Akodo Toturi was disgraced
by the Scorpion Clan Coup, Togashi Yokuni commanded that Hitomi
relinquish her command to the ronin Toturi in order to help him
build an army against the coming darkness of the Shadowlands.
Notable personalities in Toturi's Army included Mirumoto Daini,
Mirumoto Hitomi, Togashi Mitsu, Ginawa and Toku. After the Battle
of Beiden Pass, Mirumoto Hitomi left Toturi's Army to pursue
her revenge against Hida Yakamo for killing her beloved elder
brother Satsu. Tasked by Toturi with finding allies in the then-mythical
Naga, Daini journeyed to the Shadowlands where the Naga found
him near death. He recovered and was successful in having the
Naga ally with Rokugan against the Shadowlands Army led by Togashi's
evil brother Fu Leng.
While both Hitomi and Daini were occupied in their pursuits,
their uncle Mirumoto Sukune took over the actual governing of
the Mirumoto Clan and was the de facto daimyo. Mirumoto Hitomi
returned during The Day of Thunder as one of the legendary Thunders.
Her part on the Day of Thunder was to retrieve and open the 12th
Black Scroll from Togashi Yokuni's body - it was hidden there
for nearly a thousand years. Fu Leng was freed from his imprisonment
with the opening of the 12th Black Scroll.
Shinsei and all of his descendants knew the
real secret of the Black Scrolls - that Fu Leng was immortal
only as long as he was trapped in the scrolls. Even as Fu Leng
gained a massive amount of temporal power with his release, he
was also transformed into a mortal - and mortals can be killed.
The Lion Thunder Toturi along with the Crane Thunder Doji Hoturi
simultaneously struck at and killed Fu Leng. With the death of
Togashi Yokuni, Mirumoto Hitomi made her uncle Mirumoto Sukune
the official daimyo. He retains his position to this day.
Mirumoto Daini remained with the Naga after
the final battle on The Day of Thunder. He did not return to
Dragon lands until he led the Naga against Hitomi during the
last year's war. The reasons for his actions are as yet unclear
but the deadly consequences are unmistakable - hundreds of Kitsuki
and Mirumoto died as a direct result of his traitorous assistance.
Mirumoto Hitomi became Hitomi the Dragon Daimyo
from the Day of Thunder until her loosing duel with Hoshi. Freed
from her duties as clan daimyo, she prepared to challenge Lord
Moon. She needed time to enhance herself with the Obsidian Mirror
(Lord Moon's Blood) and Lord Moon's Bone. The Obsidian Hand was
already attached - a gift from Bayushi Kachiko during the Clan
Wars. Hitomi fought Lord Moon at the Refuge of the Three Sisters
during the War in the Heavens. After Lord Moon was distracted
by a Void Strike from the Monk Takao, Hitomi delivered the coup
de grace. 27 Days of Darkness followed the War in the Heavens.
Slowly turning to obsidian from Lord Moon's Hand, Hitomi traversed
Rokugan in during the 27 Days of Darkness. She dispensed wisdom
and knowledge to the clans and prepared them to fight the Shadow.
She has now ascended to the Heavens as the Lady Moon.

Kitsuki Yasu is the current daimyo of the Kitsuki. It was
he who suggested that the circumstantial evidence indicated that
the Scorpion were innocent in Emperor Toturi's disappearance.
As an Imperial Magistrate, he foiled many of the Scorpion's plans.
Thus it was quite ironic that he tried to save the Scorpion Clan,
considering that Bayushi Kachiko was his sworn enemy and that
he believes a Scorpion poisoned his father. The Kitsuki are the
Magistrates in the Dragon Clan. They use physical and circumstantial
evidence to reach their conclusions. The Mirumoto in particular,
value their assistance and objectiveness.
However, in the Imperial Courts, the Kitsuki are less trusted
and their advice is often ignored because the Imperial Courts
relies on testimony, not evidence. No matter. The Kitsuki know
that the truth is out there, and careful observation and deduction
will make it known.

Agasha Tamori was corrupted by the Shadowlands
at the Battle at Oblivion's Gate. The Clan thought that he had
died in battle and did not search for him. Unknown to Rokugan,
he had survived the battle and soon started to assist the Iron
Chrysanthemum Hantei XVI in fighting the Spirit Wars. The Shadowlands
taint affecting his mind, Agasha Tamori enabled Hantei XVI to
use the Phoenix children as hostages during the Spirit Wars.
Emperor Toturi the First and the other clans eventually defeated
Hantei XVI at Beiden Pass. During the surrender proceedings,
Hantei XVI obtained two concessions from Toturi. The first was
that one of Toturi's sons would take the name of Hantei and be
taught by Hantei XVI. The second concession was that a new family
was to be created honoring Agasha Tamori. Thus the Tamori Clan
was formed. The current daimyo of the Tamori is Agasha Tamori's
daughter, Shaitung. She too is a Shugenja like her father.
As for Agasha Tamori, he tried to fight the
taint but eventually succumbed to it, becoming the new Dark Oracle
of Fire.

The Agasha along with the Mirumoto were the
two families that were present during the founding of the Dragon
Clan. The Agasha have traditionally supplied the shugenja for
the Dragon clan.
Most of the Agasha family defected to the Phoenix during the
time of The Hidden Emperor because they did not understand or
trust Hitomi. Before he was tainted at the Battle at Oblivion's
Gate, Tamori was able to train his daughter Shaitung in the ways
of the old Agasha shugenja. She
is the current Daimyo of the Tamori Clan in Gold Edition.
