BEAU BRUMMELS

The Beau Brummels was formed around 1964 in San Francisco by guitarist Ron Elliot, singer Sal Valentino, guitarist Ron Meagher, bassist Declan Mulligan and drummer Jon Petersen.

In early 1965 Mulligan left the band and Meagher turned to the bass. They had two hit records in 1965 with "Laugh Laugh" and "Just a Little". They recorded two albums for the Autumn label before they signed to Warner Brothers in 1966. They split by the end of that year, but reformed again in 1967 with Van Dyke Parks taking Petersen´s place. This line-up was very short-lived and on the 1968 album "Bradley´s Barn" only Elliot and Valentino were left. They dissolved again, but in 1975 Elliot and Valentino reformed the band again to do one more album.

Band Members:

Ron Elliot: Born 1943. Composer, vocals, guitar. Ron was one of the founder members a key character in Beau Brummels history

Sal Valentino: Born - . Vocals. Sal was the other key member, and is featured on all B.B. albums

Ron Meagher: Born 1941. Guitar and bass . Meagher played the first 5 albums. Was back for a short while in the ealy 1970´s

Declan Mulligan: Bass. Left the band early 65, and is only featured on their first album

Jon Petersen: Born 1942. Drums. Left the band in 1966 and is featured only on the first 4 albums. He later joined Harpers Bizarre, but returned shortly to the reformed B.B.

Van Dyke Parks: Born 1941. Composer, singer and keyboards. Parks is featured on the "Triangle" album. He was never a permanent member

Don Irving: Is only featured on the 3rd album

Dan Levitt: Bass. Replaced Meagher in 1974
