Thanks you to everyone who sent me feedback and gave me there
suggestions for camp pranks. Especially to Brande, Allison, Diana, and
Anne for telling me their favorite practical jokes.
Ok, guys, I myself am leaving for camp tomorrow(Yes!), so it will be
at least a week until the next story is posted. Keep sending feedback
though because I'l read my mail before I write the next installment.
"These redwoods have been here for at least a hundred years, guys.
Notice how the tree over there is hollowed out, but the shape of the
tree is still standing? Well, that's simply because it caught fire, bit
redwoods never completely burn..."
"Yada, yada, yada," Pacey interrupted Dawson's lengthy speech about
forest life that sounded like it was straight out of a brochure. Dawson
gave Pacey a look, and kept walking the long, dusty trail that wove
deeper into the forest. "Whaddya say, girls? Is Dawson headed right
towards the Discovery Channel? I can see it now: 'Next up; The Trees and
Me, Dawson Leery's breathtakingly dull look into the wooden giants."
Pacey said in a deep, announcer-type voice.
Joey nodded and added,"Yea, but couldn't you see him as more of a
Speilburg-type documentary film director? Sorta like in Jurassic Park,
only it's the trees that come alive with overly hyped special effects."
Pacey just laughed and held out his hand for Joey to take as she
stumbled over a pile off rocks and shrubbery. After she steadied
herself, neither one of them let go of the others hand right away.
Pacey and Joey noticed the extra few seconds of electricity they felt
before they both suddenly threw their hands down and turned away. "So,
um , Jen, how do you like this place so far?" Joey asked quickly, trying
to change the subject to keep her mind off Pacey.
"Well, besides the heat and bugs..."Jen kept chattering away, and
joey noticed out of the corner off her eye, that Dawson and Pacey were
huddled about 20 feet away, deep into discussion. Joey knew them both
too well to not see the small smiles of mischief and glint of laughter
in their eyes. Suddenly, Joey understood. * Those neanderthals, they're
planning something. God, how old are we,eleven?* She thought.*But, then
again, if they're not above it, then neither am I. I just hope Blondie
here will be willing to get her hands a little dirty.* Joey cast a
glance over at Jen who was still babbling on about chipped nail polish,
and how back in New York, no one ever went to camp. *On second thought,
maybe this will have to be a one woman conquest.*

"Pacey, are you sure about this? Don't you think that maybe that it's
a little, I don't know, too harsh?" Dawson asked, quickly glancing over
at the girls. "I mean, we both know Joey, and when she finds out that we
did it, she's not gonna let us go too easy."
"Oh, come on, man, listen to yourself. You sound like you're scared
of Joey. She's *not* nightmare material. Sure, she's a little
tough...and kind strong...and..."Pacey's voice trailed off as he turned
and saw Joey, hands on her hips, glaring steadily at both of them. Pacey
turned quickly back around, gulped and asked Dawson, "Are you scared of
Joey?"
Dawson didn't hesitate for a second before answering, "Yes, yes I
am."
"Me, too," Pacey said nodding. "But, Dawson, come on, we have to put
our fears of the Ice Queen behind us. This will be such a blast. Playing
pranks is what camp is all about. And besides," Pacey concluded, "it
might be fun to have sort of a prank war going on all summer. Like I
said before, it will bring us all closer together. And isn't that what's
important?" Pacey grinned.
"Yea, I guess," Dason said relenting. "But, man, we should be really
careful. I bruise easily, and Joey punches hard." The two guys laughed
and continued on with their plans to "get" the girls tonight.
After exploring their surroundings a bit more, the group headed back
to the main camp to wash up and change into their official camp t-shirts
before heading to the main building to meet the campers.
The four friends reached a fork in the road, with a wooden sign
directing the boys to the right, and the girls to the left. " See you in
15 minutes sharp, right here, ok?" Dawson asked the girls. Joey and Jen
agreed, and started walking up the hill to their cabin. When they
reached the destination, both girls sat down on the front stoop and
tugged off their hiking boots. Rocks and dirt fell to the ground as Jen
shook the garbage out of her shoes. Sighing, she picked them up and
walked inside, and made a beeline to the small bathroom. Jen washed her
face and hauled out the make-up kit.
*What we girls do to look good,*
she thought. Jen had to admit, she still had a thing for Dawson, even
though it seemed that he was well over her. * Well,* she thought as she
applied eyeliner, *it never hurts to try.*
Joey was changing into a clean pair of shorts when Jen walked back
into their sunny cabin. "Hey, Jen?" Joey asked tentativley.
"Yea, Jo?" Jen looked up from pinning her nametag on to see Joey's
shy, almost embarrassed expression.
"What do you think of Pacey?" Joey mumbled quickly. She hated asking
for advice from anyone, especially another girl, and especially when it
involved a guy. Jen understood that it was hard for Joey to ask about
guys, and she decided to play it cool.
"Pacey? He's nice, and handsome, and humorous... and you gotta
admit, the boy has a cute butt," Jen answered. "Why do you ask?"
"Huh? Oh...no reason...." Joey's voice told a different story from
her words.
"Hey, Jo, you wouldn't have a thing for him, now would ya?" Jen
asked teasingly.
" Jen, are you on crack? I mean, it's *Pacey*! He's loud, rude,
obnoxious, and his jokes are not *that* funny, but..." Joey sighed and
felt her face grow red as she continued, " yea, I do. Like him, or
whatever."
"Joey, it's nothing to be embarrassed about. And you know, just
between us, I think he likes you too." Jen smiled as she saw Joey's
expression change.
"Yea?"
"Yea."

"Ok, Dawson, here's the plan for this evening. After lights out for
the kiddies, we have our staff meeting. That will let out around eleven
or so. Joey and Jen will get back to their cabin at approximatley
eleven-fifteen. After they they slip into their nighties, give each
other facials, have tickle war, and read each other's Seventeen Magazine
horoscope, they'll hop into bed at about eleven-fortyfive. Knowing
girls, they'll stay up till midnight talking about boy's, and we all
know that I will be the main topic of conversation at that point." Pacey
was about to continue when Dawson interrupted.
"Ba-da-bing-ba-da-boom, topic of conversation bores them to sleep 2
minutes later, and we go in for the kill at precisley twelve-fifteen,"
Dawson finishes for Pacey.
"Not exactly, but yea, ok. Sound good to you?" Pacey asked as he
tied up his shoe.
"Pretty much, except one thing. Since when do girls have tickle
wars?"Dawson asked curiously.
What will happen next? What will the boys prank be? How will the girls
react? Stay tuned for the next installment sometime not so very soon!
