Mets lose it again. SO much for the Mets comeback. They just lost a game they were winning by 4 runs at the last strike in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Braves. Now they are 5 games back from first with 7 games to go. What a shame. If they had won today they would have only been 3 games out. I am pretty upset about this, since a month ago the Mets were so far out that it didn't seem they had a chance. Now they worked hard to give themselves a chance and they give it up with a two-run homer courtesy of Brian Jordan. Armando Benitez needs to go.

Note to self: Its okay to be angry at your ex-girlfriend -- not everything in life works perfectly.

While walking down University Place today... Janeanne Garofolo passed by me on the sidewalk carrying groceries. Its nice to see that some celebrities are actual normal people. Oh yeah, Janeanne does live among/close to NYU's "campus" if you were wondering...

And I thought I couldn't sleep. My poor cousin Marissa, a college freshman at Drew University in New Jersey, has been having a less than stellar start to college. It started with the usual homesickness. I think she got over that. Then, the attack on the World Trade Center. She, understandably, became hysterical. She's calmer since then, as much as anyone could be. And then tonight she mentions that some kid on her floor punched his fist through a window -- some jerk that she says seems very immature. It turns out that he was actually trying to kill himself by slitting his wrists. She is now more than a little upset -- her whole floor is awake -- and her roommate is friends with the kid, who is now in the hosipital. What the hell am I supposed to say to comfort her this third time?
