It was early in the morning, and we were traveling again. Everyone was still asleep, except me. Our destination: Las Vegas and the W.B. Awards. It was also the sight of Amanda's eighteenth birthday party. My present for her was special, definately unlike any she would actually get. It was a promise ring. It promised my heart and soul to her. I pulled the small box out and looked at the ring. It was a diamond with two small saphires on the sides.
"Woa, man." I hear J.C. say from behing me. "What's that?"
"Not what you think."
"I'll be back in a sec, then I want some answers." When he came back from the bathroom, he still looked worried.
"If it's not what I think it is, then what is it?"
"A promise ring, basically my heart and soul in jewelry form. It will be with her always, just like my love will."
"Oh, ok. I am going back to sleep. See you later." He left, and went back to his bunk.
***Hotel***
***J.C.***
"What do you mean, 'There are only five rooms left'?" I yelled at the manager.
"I'm sorry. You should have registered earlier."
"WE DID! Our scheduler said she did."
"Well, your not listed. But, we have five rooms left if you want them."
"Fine. We'll take them." The manager hands me the keys and I walk to face the group.
"Guys, what are we going to do? We have five rooms to spread between ten of us. And, no. We can't split up by couples."
"Let's go upstairs and decide." Chris said.
We head upstairs, and enter into the first room we get open.
"Ok, the press will find out about this soon. So, I think we should do this. The girls split up into two rooms and we get two. We'll get two rollaways, and the extra will be for luggage." I explain.
"But, that means we'll all be seperated." Michelle said.
"Well, that's what the press will think. We will switch rooms at night."
"Ah, you sneaky devil. Good plan." Joey said.
"Lance, you had better go get Marta. She's probably waiting at the airport now." Amanda said, remembering her sister.
***later that night***
***Amanda***
Our boys looked good, and that was proven when they were voted the best dressed at the W.B. Awards. But, the best part of the night came when they performed their new song, "Bye, Bye, Bye." After the show, we decided to turn in early. All of us were tired from the trip, and wanted to take advantage of the spare time we had.
***next morning***
We convened for breakfast about noon. We all wanted to go clubbing, but we couldn't decide what we wanted to do during the day. The girls and I wanted to shop and swim, while the guys wanted to sight see and harass the locals.
"Ok, let's compromise." J.C. said, taking the leadership role. "We'll go shopping and sight seeing during the day, and then you can swim when we are at the photo shoot. Just walking around with our girlfriends will drive the locals crazy."
We glance around the table, seeing if there were any disagreements. There weren't so we headed out on foot.
,***Night***
"Everyone ready?" J.C. asks, seeing that we were all waiting at the end of the hall for him and Michelle.
"Yup. Ready and rearing." Joey said, starting to dance with Chrissy.
Id didn't take long for us to get to the first club. Once on the dance floor, Joey was surrounded by a lot of girls, but he stayed with Chrissy. It was a site I loved to see. Lance and Marta grabbed a corner table, but ended up on the dance floor after a while. Michelle and J.C., Chris and Krystl, Justin and I all hung around for a while. Eventually, we got up and danced. Justin seemed much happier than he had the past few days. After a couple hours, we left that club and headed for the next one. Everyone was there except Chris and Krystl. No one seemed to know where they went. I guess they went back to the hotel. Krystl said she had a bad headache earlier.
***Krystl***
"Do you think they bought the whole headache thing?" I asked Chris as we walked down the street.
"I hope. I didn't want to spend the entire night clubbing. We always do that."
"So, what do you want to do? I mean, the night is young, and we are both way too hyper to sleep."
"Let's take a walk, away from here." He responded, taking my hand, and leading me down a quieter street.
"Krystl?" He asked me, after a while of walking.
"Ya?"
"Do you remember what I asked you the other day?" I couldn't at that moment, but then I did.
"Ya." I said, with a smile.
"Want to do it tonight?"
"What?"
"Would you marry me, tonight?" I went speechless.
"Tonight? What about our families? I don't know about you, but I always hoped my mom would be there when I walked down the aisle."
"Well, I was thinking we would do this tonight. But, then a little later, when the world is a little more ready, we will have a big public wedding."
"Oh. Let me think about it." We walked a little longer.
Thoughts flooded my mind, until Chris kissed me.
"You don't have to, if you don't want to. It was just a suggestion." He said, looking deep into my eyes.
I knew at that moment, he was the one I wanted to spend my life with.
"Yes." I said, quietly. He looked shocked.
"Really?"
"Why not? I love you, and you love me. I know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
He kissed me, and we started down the street.
"How are we going to keep this wedding hidden, though?" I ask, remembering Vegas is the city most rumors come out of.
"Pray. That's the only thing I can think of." We walk into the first wedding chapel we see.
"Hello, and welcome to the Happy Time House of Love. How may I help you?"
"We'd like to get married."
"Well, we have some wonderful packages, if you'd like to look at the brochures."
"That's alright. We just want the minister to marry us. No gimicks." Chris responds, calmly.
"We have a package for that, too. It includes the bride's flowers and garder, and the groom's boutineer. Also, it includes the minister's fee and the liscence fee."
"Sounds good. We'll take it." He responds.
We were the next couple to head down the aisle. When the minister asked if we wanted to say our own vows, Chris said he would.
"Krystl, I love you. You are the light of my life, everything I've ever dreamed of. I can't imagine spending my life with anyone else, but you."
"Chris, I am so happy when I am around you. The love I have inside for you, can be summed up in five words, 'I will love you forever.'"
"By the power vested in me by the state of Nevada, I proclaim you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Before we kissed for the first time as husband and wife, Chris slipped a beautiful wedding ring on my finger. I was so happy. The rest of the night, we walked around and talked.
***Justin***
After a long night of clubbing, we headed back to our rooms to crash. But, we were worried about Chris and Krystl, because we hadn't seen them all night and they weren't in their room when we came back. I decided to give Amanda her birthday present early. She was standing on the balcony, when I was finished getting ready for bed. I walk over to her and say,
"Hello, beautiful." Before kissing her. "You look great."
She had on a long flowing white night gown under a lace robe.
"Thanks, sweety."
"Hold out your hands, and close your eyes. I want to give you your birthday suprize." She obeyed, and I placed the small ring box in her hands. "Ok, open."
Her eyes lit up, when she saw the sparkling jewels.
"It's not what you are thinking. It's a promise ring." I say, as I take it out of the box.
"Amanda, I promise you my heart and soul from this moment on." I slid the ring on her finger.
"Justin, it's wonderful. Thank you, so much."
"Happy Birthday." I respond, before kissing her good night.
***Morning***
***Amanda***
"Hey, guys. You awake yet?" I hear someone pounding on the door.
I stumble out of bed and answer the door. "What?"
"Geez, aren't you a grouch in the morning." J.C. says, walking in.
"Nice nightgown, by the way." I look down and see I didn't have my robe on.
"Where's Justin?"
"I guess in the shower." I said, seeing that he wasn't in bed and someone was in our shower.
"Ok, I just have to discuss something with him." He said, walking into the bathroom.
Moments later I hear the toilet flush and Justin scream.
"What did you do that for?" The next few minutes, I hear talking, but I can't understand the words. J.C. emerges a few minutes later.
"I'll see you at breakfast." He said, before leaving. Justin came out in a towel, and looked upset.
"How could you let him do that?"
"I didn't know what he was doing. He woke me up while you were in the shower, and he kinda walked in the bathroom before I could stop him."
"Oh, ok." He said, before kissing me.
"Goodmorning, birthday girl. How does it feel to be 18?"
"Great."
"Well, J.C. said everyone was meeting for breakfast at about 10. So, if you want, you can take a quick shower."
"Did you leave any hot water for me?"
"I think so."
I took a quick shower, because it turned out Justin didn't leave me much hot water. When I was done getting ready, we headed down for breakfast. Everyone else was waiting for us, when we got there. Chris and Krystl looked like they were about to jump out of their seats. The waitress came around and got our orders. Justin got the biggest thing on the menu.
"Hungry?" I asked him.
"Always in the morning."
"Guys, we have something to tell you." Chris said, with a huge smile on his face.
"Krystl, you want to tell them?"
"Sure. Well, last night, when you were all clubbing, Chris and I got married." She could barely contain he excitement, as she showed the ring off.
We sat there in silence for a while.
"Did you guys think? Lou is going to kill you. Anyways, do you know how fast the tabloids are going to get hold of it? Are you trying to break up the group?" J.C. asked calmly, even though you could see the anger in his face.
"I've covered all of that, man. No one saw us do it. The minister was our witness and he signed the paper before we did. I don't care what Lou thinks." Chris responded.
"Also, we are going to keep this secret for a year or so, until we have a big public wedding. Don't worry, I won't wear the ring in public anymore." Krystl added.
J.C. seemed to calm down after that comment.
"Well, I am happy for you." Chrissy said, getting up and hugging Krystl.
"And so am I." A voice from behind us said.
"Amber? How did you get here?" Marta asked.
"Britney was in town for the Awards show, and she doesn't have another show until next week. So, T.J. and I decided to stay for a couple extra days." She explained, coming around to the table. T.J. followed behind her.
"Hey, man. How's it goin?" Joey asked T.J.
"Good, I'm really tired though. Britney's had a really hectic schedule lately."
"Ya, we know the feeling." Lance added, wrapping his arms around Marta.
Krystl gave Amber a huge hug.
"Thank you so much."
"For what?" She asked, confused beyond belief.
"For being a huge Britney fan, for going to that concert, for meeting the publicity manager, for getting us into the preshow, which helped me meet the man of my dreams. Thank you!"
"Oh, your welcome. I'm so glad things turned out between you two."
All this time, it had never occured to us that we would not be with the guys if it had not been for Amber. I got up, and also hugged Amber. The rest of us followed suit. We almost at the verge of tears, because we were all so happy with the guys.
"Aw, what a cute girl moment." Joey said, sarcastically.
One by one, we all walked over and hit him.
"What?"
"You wouldn't be with us if hadn't have been for Amber! That's why we are all so happy."
"I hadn't realized that, sorry." He said, sorrowfully.
The waitress came back with our food, finally. Justin scarfed down on his food fast. He sat there, waiting for the rest of us to finish our food.
"Can we go yet?" He said, impatiently.
"What's the rush?" I ask, taking another bite.
"I just want to go sight see some more, that's all."
"Oh, I didn't know that was the plan."
"It's just gonna be the two of us. The rest of them look like they need sleep."
"That's fine." I say, finishing my breakfast.
"We'll see you guys later."
Justin says, taking my hand and leaving the room. We spent the rest of the morning shopping. I didn't think anything was up, until Justin got a call on his cell phone. When he was done talking, he said,
"You want to head back to the hotel? The girls are going swimming soon."
"No, I'd rather see more of the town with you."
"You sure?" He asked, worridly.
"Ya. I don't feel like swimming right now, anyway."
"How about lunch? You want to go eat at the hotel?"
"If we get hungry, we can find a restraunt out here."
"I feel sick. I need to go sleep." He said, grabbing his stomach.
"You were fine two seconds ago. What's going on?"
"I just don't feel good, that's all." He said, fake coughing.
"Fine." I said.
We walked back into the hotel. We stopped outside the ballroom doors. There was a sign outside the door, that read, "Kareoke 1-5 p.m."
"We're just in time. Let's go in." He said, grabbing my hand.
"Justin, I don't feel like listening to premature drunks try to sing."
"Too bad." He said, opening the doors, draggind me in.
"SUPRISE!!!!" I was so shocked. Before me stood my family, and all my friends.
"Happy Birthday, baby." Justin said, kissing me on the cheek.
"How'd you get here mom?"
"Justin flew us in. Then J.C. picked us up at the airport while you were out." She explained.
"How long have you had this planned?" I asked Justin, who was stadning behind me.
"Since I knew we were coming to Vegas on your birthday." He replied, with a smile.
I walked aroung, talking to everyone that had come. After a while, I had to blow out the candles and open my pile of presents. That took us until 10 o'clock at night. We did have a kareoke machine, but the guys kept kicking everyone off to sing their crazy songs. It was so fun. Once, my uncle tried to kick Justin off the stage. They had a sing off to see who got to stay up. Justin won, by a unanimous vote. My parents had to leave to fly back, because my mom had to be at work in the morning. But, the party didn't end until midnight. I went upstairs with all my presents, while the guys cleaned up. They didn't expect to be done for an hour or so. It was about 12:30 , by the bathroom clock, when I got out of the shower. I dried off as best I could and put on my red silk pajamas. When I went out into the bedroom the light were off I was about to turn them on when I noticed softly lit candles every where. The bed was covered in red and white rose petals. Nsync's new song This I Promise You was playing. And then I saw him, my angel, like a wonderful dream come true. The white curtains on the balcony were flowing towards him. The one candle he held illuminated his face and body. He had on a wife beater and khakis. Never before had he looked so angelic.
***Justin***
She came out, obviously surprised to see me. The guys had let me leave early. They said they'd clean up the rest off the party. The red silk pajamas she wore clung to her body in all the right places
"My love, My beauty, tonight you cannot refuse me for I am yours eternally."
I say to her softly
***Amanda***
His words were so sweet, so tender, And so was his touch. We kissed passionately . He took my hair out of the towel, and placed me gently on the bed. Justin made sweet love to my that night. Our moment seemed to last forever, but it had to end. For a while after we just lay there kissing. Never again would we be the same. We had consummated are love for each other. I slowly fell asleep on his chest, still dreaming of the love had just shared.
