Flute_V1.exe is the first type of flute I
studied was the Transverse Flute but I have not gotten around to building
one yet. This program was written so that I can approximately calculate
the tone hole position for any material that I used to name the flute. I
found the formulae on the net. I was able to
use this program to calculate the 6 tone holes for the Quena flutes that I
made. The thumb hole was approximated by using the size of the players
hands. Try it!

Flute_M.exe is based on the same calculations as
the Flute_V1 program but it was written for the person that wants to tune
the flute as the tone holes are drilled or made. It calculates the tone
hole position as sound waves affect the flute. Effective bore length,
Lattice Correction, Flattening Effect, and the cutoff Frequency are some
of the approximations. Still have some bugs. Try it!

Flute_Notes.exe is a Windows 32bit GUI
application that was written for the beginner to be able to recognize the
western scales of the major and minor notes and it associated frequencies.
There is no help file for this program because of its simplicity. This
program works well with Flute_M because it lets you know at note the
cutoff frequency is estimated. Try it!
