The Tombstones of

Elmgrove Methodist Cemetery,
Spencerport, New York
You may note the inscription on the tombstone has a reference to a military unit, the 13th NY Infantry. Gon was in this unit during the civil war. Check the Roll of Honor page for details.
Gon is the son of James B. Ellison and Mary Scott. According to Gon's naturalization papers, he was born in County Down Ireland July 15, 1835. Ellen born bet. 1843 - 1844 is the daughter of ?Langdon and Mary Flemming.
I have different death dates for Gon and Ellen. As you can see the tombstones give the year as 1892, however, the records in the town hall in the Town of Greece, New York give the year as 1897. The cemetery has no record of the date of burial.
No record of marriage has been found for Gon and Ellen. They had the following children all born in the Town of Greece, Monroe County, New York:
Matilda : b. 1862 d. 1917 married Lawrence DeWitt Comstock
Jennie : b. 1866 d. 1901 married Francis Spears
Mary : b. 1868 d. 1969 married Archibald Carter
Buell : b. 1871 d. 1924 married Alice Bergman
Nellie : b. abt 1873 d. December 17, 1894 (thanks to research done by Elmer Dean Comstock, Nellie was found. I was able to locate her with the family in the 1880 census for the town of Greece, New York) She was supposed to be buried in Elmgrove cemetery, however they have no record of it. The records were not kept well at that time.
William George : (my line) b. 1879 d. 1945 married Anna Rosin
Henry : b. 1882 d. 1959 married Delia C.
Henrietta (Henry's twin) b. 1882 d. 1938 married James Harrington
Isabella : b. 1885 d. 1956 never married
Lyda : b. Bet. November 07, 1877 - 1879 d. 1937 married John Coady
