Trilliums are a common member of the Lily Family. They are easily recognized by their showy white, pink, or red 3 petaled flowers and three leaves. There are several species of trillium native to New York, Large Flowered is one of the more common while Toad Trillium is the least common and on the Threatened list. All species are protected under the exploitatively vulnerable law. Large Flowered Trilliums are common in spring in rich woods.
