Two strangers fell in love. One knew it wasn't by chance.
Buddy Amaral (Ben Affleck) is a charming, smooth talking ad executive who is enjoying his successful career until fate steps in and changes everything. In order to make things right and make amends over his guilt from his past actions, he goes out in search of Abby Janello ( Gwyneth Paltrow), a single mother of two struggling to make ends meet as a realtor.
That is all I am going to give you about the plot, talk about contrived. The creators of this piece of fluff worked real hard on the script. The writer said he came up with the story one night while trying to fall asleep, and there you have it, the perfect cure for insomnia. Pop this baby in the dvd player and you will be out like a light.
Paltrow and Affleck are both anemic here, looking as though they were waiting for the real script pages to be delivered to them, but never getting them. I do not believe it is wholly their fault, what is their fault is that they agreed to do this picture.
We even get cheated here on the extras. We are promised a commentary by the actors and we are treated to only isolated snippets of commentary from them on a second disk. The main commentary is weak and at times boring. The list below round out the features on this double disc.
