The Yellowstone Boulevard to Metropolitan Avenue run is best not taken on the run, when taken at all, which of course I am not encouraging anyone to do. If anything, I supply these photos so that you can see this wonder without having to risk its treacherous trappings.
Not far south of Yellowstone Boulevard, the bed upon which lay the tracks is washed out, leaving a hell of a void between the northbound rails and terra firma. As you can see above, the ties that were beneath the rails, are now very far beneath the rails.
As seen here, some ties have managed to retain their...could I resist a pun?...family ties. Some sort of signal control box thingy stands on the left of that shot.
