"Frankie still hasn't told you about that girl?" Jenny pondered as she coated her naked toenails with a jacket of shimmery blue sparkles. The slow rythum's of 'Matter of Time' circled the room as the moon shown a small light into Ti's small bedroom.
"Yeah," Bridget responded, laying back on Ti's cloud pillow, her weak arms cradling her head as she peered into the ceiling, "It's been like a week and 1/2 since that sour subject came up. I just wish he'd, like, trust me maybe? I don't know what the deal is with that."
"I'm sure he has his reasons," Sasha assured Bridget as she, laying tummy-side-down on Ti's squishy bed, flipped through a old BOP magazine. "OMG...Andrew Keegan?! This sure is old."
"He better have good reasons," Tiyanna replied neutrally, modeling her new 'angel' sleepset in her elongated mirror ajacent to her closet.
After some thought, Bridget sat up in Ti's small bed. "I'm going to call him," Bridget concluded as she reached for Ti's blue portable. She dialed his number and rings flew by. By the 4th ring, Frankie picked up quickly and said "Hello?"
"Frankie?" Bridget asked, "It's Bridget."
"Oh, hey, baby," Frankie replied, turning away from Greg and Chris's kissy-faces. Frankie shot them a meaningful look as they just laughed. "What's up?"
"Nothing...I just miss you, I guess," Bridget replied unsurely. She shrugged her shoulders to her friends as they raised their heads from their tasks to pay attention.
"I miss you, too," Frankie replied sympathetically. An idea leaped into Frankie's head. "Tell you what...Can you guys sneak out?"
"Well..." Bridget started, peering over her shoulder at the white alarm clock on the dresser as it flashed 11:07. "I'm sure we could."
"Can you girls meet us down at the docks, by the basketball courts in say oh...1/2 hour?"
"What do you think, girls?" Bridget asked, lowering the phone to her chest and running her hand through her short, blond hair, "Up for a little midnight basketball?"
"It'll take me forever to get ready!" Ti yelled, sliding her hand down her cheek with the sheer thought of it.
"It isn't a beauty contest, Ti. Of course we're up for it!" Sasha retorted, bouncing off the bed and Jenny gently sliding off, her wild brown main twisting in the process, so as not to get her nail polish smudged.
"It's set then," Bridget said into the reciever, "See ya in a few."
"Ok...Byee" Frankie replied as they hung up the phones simultaneously.
The girls quietly walked to Ti's parents bedroom, the TV slightly brightening the motionless room to a lurid blue. Ti peered in to make sure they were snoozing, then motioned for her and her friends to cross the threshold. They made it safely to Sasha's car and sped off into the dark night.
"Ahh, ladies," Chris greeted the 4 girls, hopping off the cold railing of the stagnant dock, the orange light from dark lampost the only sign of vibrance. Greg and Frankie hopped off as well as the girls approached them smiling.
"Chris, always a pleasure," Tiyanna smiled, offering her hand.
"What is that I smell...Vanilla?" Chris asked as he laid his lips atop Ti's hand.
"Good nose," Jenny replied, leaning over Tiyanna's bare shoulders.
"Oh yeah, guys, this is our friend, Jenny," Sasha introduced them. They shook hands and stuff, ya know.
"Can we talk?" Frankie asked Bridget, leaning in for a welcoming kiss.
"Sure," Bridget replied as he took her hand and navagated her to a near-by bench.
"Girls," Greg shook his head with a smirk, picking up the basketball from the frigid ground.
"Who needs em when ya got me?!" Sasha asked, jumping piggyback on Greg...
"I know I haven't been as honest as I should have been with you," Frankie started, sitting on the left side of the bench. He slid down in anxiety and inhaled a deep breath. Bridget's hand grazed across his with concern as he let out a small smile. "Beth was my ex-girlfriend," Frankie continued, looking over into Bridget's heavenly eyes, "She was my everything, so dedicated to me, the group, our rising fame. Then she started to spread rumors when I told her we couldn't go out anymore..." Frankie paused, lifting his hand to his mouth in an attempt to push his sadness in. The waves seemed to crash up against the docks faster as Frankie let Bridget in on a painful secret.
"Go on," Bridget urged quietly, stroking his jet black hair, "I'm listening."
"I mean, I wanted to go out with her, but there was no time, not even for myself," Frankie sobbed, holding his hands out, "She spread these rumors on how I hit her and that's why SHE left ME. She was spoiling my reputation, and trying to get to the people I really cared for. I told Greg, my mom, Chris, that she was lying. I knew they had doubts in their minds. We changed our number and moved closer to my family. I mean...I thought she was out of my life...untill you asked me about her..."
"I'm sorry," Bridget apologiesed, looking over at her friends playing a savoring game of basketball. "But what would you have done if you were in my position?"
"I don't know," Frankie replied, scooting closer to Bridget, "I know it's hard to trust people we care for...or aren't close with, ya know? But we seem to be doing fine..."
"Yeah," Bridget agreed with a nod as she peered into his eyes. Her smile radiated into his soul as he pulled her into his arms. "Just be honest with me, ok?" Bridget asked, patting his back with the comforting touch of a mother.
"I will," Frankie replied, lifting Bridget from the stark bench. "Let's go have some fun, ok?" Frankie asked, Bridget's tanned cheek being stroked with his index finger.
"Yeah," Bridget agreed as they walked hand in hand back over to the courts.
"Greg!" Sasha whined as Greg lay-uped yet another points for him and Chris, "You're supposed to be easy on us."
"Easy?" Greg asked, perking up his eyebrows as he tossed the ball to Jenny, "Never."
"It isn't our fault we lack athletic skill," Jenny defended herself, passing the ball to a sitting Tiyanna.
"That's not all you lack, Jenn," Tiyanna laughed, chucking the ball as it sliced through the orangey light to an unsuspecting Bridget.
"Why don't you put your money where your mouth is, Tiyanna?" Jenny challenged, placing her hands on her hips.
"Cat fight, Yes!" Chris cheered.
"Hold up," Greg interrupted, thrusting himself between them. "Let's stop this B-Ball stuff for now."
"What about crusing to Wendy's?" Bridget suggested, hitting her hand on her growling stomach, "I know I'm starving."
"Me too," Sasha agreed. "Greg, Tiyanna, Jenny, you come crusing with me. Ridge and Chris, go with Frankie."
"Oh yes, our love triangle," Bridget joked as Chris, Frankie and her strolled to the car.
"Ewww...I like my girls, okay?" Chris retorted as Bridget darted to the front seat. She gave him a raspberry as Chris pouted.
"How are you going to eat all that?!" Greg asked Bridget peering at her stuffed bag as she layed it on the cool grass.
"You'd be surprised," Frankie informed Greg as Bridget dug in.
"We've gotta do this more often," Jenny suggested as they sat in the umbrage of a white street light, cars whizzing by and honks being thrown in all directions.
"Yeah, I always wanted to WALK through the drive-thru," Chris replied sarcastically, squirting his ketcup on his golden fries.
"You gotta do stupid things sometimes, Chris," Tiyanna told him, nudging his arm and flashing her flirtateous smile.
"Yeah," Bridget agreed, taking a delicious spoonfull of Frankie's frosty and dripping it into her mouth, "Stop being such a stick in the mud."
"Yeah!" Sasha agreed with a smile, teasing Chris. "No one wants an unfun Chris."
He laughed nervously and then yelled "Stop talking to me!" He covered his ears, scrunched up his nose and buried his face in his lap.
The friends let out sparatic laughs as the moon crawled higher and higher into the sky. Bridget treasured these moments because the guys were going to be very busy for the rest of the summer. The relentless life of climbing pop-stars definatley made them appreciate the times when they can just kick back and relax. Frankie enjoyed being around Bridget so much. He just wished he could look at her for the rest of the night so he could remember her sweet face when he feel asleep at night. He couldn't believe he'd only been dating her for a month and a half, but he felt that Bridget might be the one...his first love. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...
