Beautifully
streaking back from beyond the Heavens,
she was charged
with carrying our latest skilled seven.
The most varied
of backgrounds were assembled that day,
each a specialist
in their own way.
The mission
completed, the journey about to end,
just sixteen
minutes before getting to spend
a lifetime
remembering and telling tales to their friends
each of their
fulfilled dream and their chance to explore,
all of the
things that they all most adored.
How can something
so perfect, go so terribly wrong,
while we all
waited for what turned out to be their swan song.
Now how to
memorialize such a varied crew...
What can we
say? What can we do?
Our pride,
our pain, our dedication must shine through
for the promise
of tomorrow awaits us, and a "new crew"
with many
more new and wonderful things to see and do.
That,
is how to honor them, this most varied of crews.
We will never
forget, or remain content to stand still...
