Adventure 2
Waking in Rivendell...
I woke up a few days later in a bed in Rivendell. How happy and shocked to see Gandalf sitting next to my bed! He told me that my wound had been healed just in time by Elrond. A splinter of the Black Rider's knife had stayed in my shoulder and was moving towards my heart. If it had reached my heart, it would have turned me into a wraith. A most dreadful thought. For now, Gandalf told me, the Ringwraiths had been swept away, but not killed, by the flood of water that Elrond let loose against them.
Since I recovered fast and almost perfectly, I was able to go with Sam, Pippin, and Merry to dinner at Elrond's table. There, I met the beautiful Arwen Evenstar, Elrond's daughter. What a beauty. I also spent lots of time talking to Gloin, one of the dwarves who traveled with Bilbo years ago.
After dinner, we all went to the great Hall of Fire for songs and stories. How wonderfully enchanting Elf songs are. I saw old Bilbo himself in the great Hall of Fire. I was so happy, I almost cried. We talked for a long, long time, but I had to go bed.
