Meeting Gildor...

We were now, very cautious while we were traveling, and every sound made us jump. It came that night passed again. Of course it was then that a Black Rider decided to show up. Pippin, Sam, and I all hid in the trees for as second time. This time, the Rider got off his horse, and got down on all fours, sniffing and turning his head around in the most unnerving fashion. I began to get that weird desire to put the Ring on. I almost thought that the Rider saw me when the song of the Elves was heard over the distance. The Rider jumped up and rode off down the road like lightning just struck him.
The Elves approached us and one of them, Gildor, greeted me. Sam and Pippin were absolutely dumbfounded. Gildor led us off into the woods a bit where we set up a camp. The Elves fed us, we sang a bit, and after, began talking. Gildor and the other Elves and were very impressed and happy that I knew some of their language. Pippin suddenly asked about the Black Riders, and all of the Elves look worried, which wasn't much of a comfort. Gildor decided to take us under their protection for the night. I tried to question Gildor more about the riders, but he only said that they are servants of the enemy and must be avoided at all costs. He told me if Gandalf had not already told me, then it was not his liberty to tell me. We eventually fell asleep, and by the next morning the Elves are gone, but they sent word of our journey to friendly ears nearby.
