~FOREVER FRIEND~

The day is fast approaching
Since you left and went away
I think about you daily
To Heaven prayers I say

I promised you a long time ago
To be your forever friend
And though one of us had to leave
I'll love you till the end

I promised to watch out 
And take care of your dad
I'm doing that every day
Sometimes he is so sad

We talk about you all the time
I ask for stories of your life
I know how hard it is for him
To live without you and his wife

I promised you forever
That I'd always be there
I'm holding my promise
I think you know how much I care

We had years together my friend
A special gift was given to me
The day I met you long ago
And a best friend you became to be

And though our plans were altered
When the Angels called that day
I'll always be your forever friend
Death will never take that away
