~HOW DO I GO
ON~
How do I look
for tomorrow
When today
is holding so much pain
How can I
ever feel the warmth of sunshine
When inside
my heart, it only rains?
How do I find
laughter again
When my heart
is broken in two?
How do I go
on living
A lifetime.....without
you?
How can I think
of a future
When mine
feels like it has passed,
How can I
be whom I once was
How long will
this horrendous pain last?
I want to see
the sunrise again
And be able
to smile once more
But my memories
still haunt me
The day death
opened its door
I know that
time heals a heart
Even one broken
in half
Yet the pain
I feel so many days
Seems to forever
last.
I think of
you my child
Every hour
of the day
Year after
year my memories
Have allowed
me to survive in this way.
I hold some
of your things in my hands
And close
my eyes and remember
The fun we
had, the laughter we shared
That last
month of September
I know I'll
always hurt
And my love
will never die
But son, some
days are so hard to endure
I can't stop
asking "Why?"
I know you
are safe in His arms
I know you're
an angel above
Just remember
no amount of time
Will ever
lessen my love.
I love you,
my child forever and ever.
