~I
Saw A Father Cry~
Born to a father
and mother
Were two beautiful
sons
Both knew
their dreams
Both fulfilled
as one
One was a fireman
The other
a detective on the go
And both sacrificed
their lives
On a date
we all know
I watched this
father tell the story
Of how he
lost his sons
I saw the
pain in his eyes
And how he
fought the tears to come
I thought about
how many lives
Were torn
and ripped apart that day
And then they
showed the trade center on fire
It breaks
your heart when you see it replayed
I know this
father's pain
I know how
hard it is
To talk about
your child
That you wished
would have lived
The road of
childloss is long
The emotions
run very high
We all reach
out to help one another
While so many
of us cry, WHY?
I think about
how many
Parents are
out there like me
The pain,
the suffering, the hurt
Screaming
out, where is eternity?
But my heart
can't help but think
Of this man
I saw today
And how sad
it was when he told
How both his
son's died that day
All of us will
always remember
September
11, 2001
The mass loss
we know happened
For families,
mothers, fathers and sons
I know I'm
just one person
On this vast
land where we live
But New York
City was so crippled
I wish I had
something to give
I don't know
if anyone from that city
Will read
this one day
But I'd like
to tell you that someone
In Alabama
thinks of you every day
God Bless All
Those Who lost a loved one in the WTC tragedy
And a special
prayer to the father
who lost both
his sons on September 11, 2001
