~THERE
ARE NO RULES~
There are no
rules in bereavement
There is no
right or wrong
What we feel
in our hearts
Is how we
get along
There are no
guidelines to follow
No one can
show us the way
We have to
learn from life
How to deal
with each and every day
Crying, and
tears they say are healing
Perhaps this
statement is true
As a bereaved
parent who struggles
I say, do
what works for you
I never pay
attention
To what others
tell me what I should do
I know what
I can deal with
I do the best
with a heart broken in two
This is our
lives
This is our
child
This is our
hearts
We do what
we have to in order to survive
Do what your
heart tells you
Never think
for a moment you are wrong
One day this
will all come together
Maybe we can
show the world they've been wrong
By telling
us we should do this or that
By acting
like we have a disease
By ignoring
our hearts and our feelings
Never knowing
we'd just like release
From the pain
we live with daily
From the hurt
that sometimes rules our lives
Trying to
tell others our struggle
Knowing they
have no idea what it's like
Follow what
your hearts tells you
Don't worry
about what others say
The only way
they'll ever understand
Is if they're
wearing our shoes one day
